I’ve been way more invested in this series than I thought I would be! Great job guys!

Wow, this whole series was just a ride, but I must say I love the illustration that was on that Magician's Nephew cover. I personally think it really does draw you in, it's my favorite illustration in the book itself actually!

The black-and-white Pauline Baynes cover for The Magician's Nephew really grew on me. At first, it seemed too plain, but now I agree that it manages to accomplish everything that a book cover needs. If the Chris van Allsburg book cover of The Magician's Nephew had been more accurate (with puddles/pools of water between the trees, for example), then I would like it more.

@@kentslocum The Chris Van Allsburg cover for The Magician's Nephew is of the garden on the hill, not the Wood Between the Worlds. (You'll notice the silver apples.) But I agree with you that it's one of the weakest of that set and it would have been better to show the Wood Between the Worlds instead.

@@theadaptationstationmaster Wow, thank you for clarifying that! I had always wondered why Digory was alone, why there was fruit in the trees, and why there was a hedge in the background. Now it all makes sense! I definitely feel that Chris van Allsburg should have illustrated the Wood Between The Worlds instead, since the place was described as being warm, dreamy, and still--exactly the feeling that Chris van Allsburg is so good at capturing with his art!

I agree with The Magician’s Nephew. Artistically, Tumnus is just standing still, no movement. I don’t know why but that sticks out to me too. The famous scene of his introduction he’s not standing still from my memory. I remember him walking casually home. From that image it’s like he’s looking at something and staring but not startled-which also would be wrong. Because he’s startled when he meets Lucy. So yep, two kids exploring is classic, relatable and has movement in it and I love it.

My favorite book cover is Pauline Baynes’s version of ‘The Magician’s Nephew’. It’s so beautiful and so incredibly detailed. It’s like I wanna go in that cover.

The Magician's Nephew was the first book I read in the series. So I read them in chronological order when I was introduced to it, though I was aware it wasn't published that way. I find it interesting that the first edition of The Magician's Nephew became the winner for overall best cover. Keep up the great work!

My favorite Narnia book cover is Chris van Allsburg's Vogage of the Dawn Treader. Of the two finalists, I would have chosen The Magician's Nephew.

Isn't the Dawn Treader heading toward the East, aka the sunrise?

* Sunrise is correct, haha.

I do find it sad that the most basic of the scholastic covers were the resounding winner, and even more so that only two of the HarperCollins/Lions 1990 covers made it in and were outvoted based on sheer recognition factor alone of the scholastic versions in round 1
