Link might not get together with the Zelda from the first game long term but I bet he did with the Zelda from the second. They are two separate princesses with the first game's Zelda being one of many members of her family named after the Zelda from the second game who was trapped in a sleeping spell for centuries until Link woke her up. Samus might be more interested in stealing you instead of stealing your girl.

@@BigOleWords Basically the older brother of sleeping Zelda felt guilty about his role in the events that led to her getting hit with the sleep spell (The wizard who cast it on her did so because her father had told her where the Triforce was but not told her brother. Her brother and the wizard tried to force her to reveal the location and when that failed the wizard got pissed and hit her with an eternal sleep spell.) So he named his eldest daughter Zelda and established a law that any future eldest daughters in the royal family would be named Zelda. Edit: Zelda had been a common name in the royal family long before this but at this point it became an actual legal requirement rather then a common practice.
