I agree about the Zelda logos... The 2D printed "ruined" logo makes sense thematically, obviously, for BotW and TotK, but the fact that both the Link's Awakening remake and Echoes of Wisdom ALSO have it is strange to me, seeing as how both of those games (allegedly) have nothing to do with the Wild duology. It gives off the impression that this it's the new logo for all Zelda games going forward. Maybe it's just me, but I also much prefer the older 2.5D red logos.

I honestly prefer the original Donkey Kong Country logo. It has the normal 'Donkey Kong' logo with a different and more stylized 'Country' logo. It might just be my nostalgia, though I would love to see it return at some point!

I honestly liked all of the new ones better (except maybe F-Zero). Here’s some context to clarify a few things: I’m counting Xenoblade X as the “newer one”; I’m not counting Super Mario Party Jamboree, therefore it would be Mario Party Superstars; lastly, I don’t count Wii Fit and Ring Fit as the same, but if so, Wii Fit is a lot better imo.

I do believe it’s the worst paper Mario game, but the hate for sticker Star is over exaggerated because if you’re very casual about paper Mario like me I think you could enjoy sticker Star. The other modern paper mario games are just straight up fantastic, after having recently played color splash again I know that game was made with love, and origami king looks better then color splash, even though I have yet to touch it.

Those are my favorites.

1. Agree new, it fits the theme better 2. I like the third one the most, the angled silver looks nice 3. Old, pink like Kirby 4. Agree original is best, it has the most pizazz 5. The lower thousand-year door logo looks best to me, I like the whole pop up look to it with the trees in the background 23. I would say that in the original Mario Golf logo that the club was there to look like it was about to hit the “o” which looks like a ball, but it balances out not getting in the way of the actual text very well in my opinion.

Does anyone know why Kid Icarus: Uprising took 2 decades to come out after Of Myths & Monsters? I’ve always wondered why, and I think the reason why there hasn’t been a new game in the series is because the makers, Project Sora, must’ve gone out of business, like Alpha Dream did. I do like the Zelda logos a lot especially the “Z” and I like the more detailed animal crossing logo, also I love the original Mario logo and the super mario bros too, I totally love the ultimate smash logo, the ttyd popup logo is what made me love it but I still love the drawn on paper Mario logo too, the modern Mario and Luigi logo I still love, and I love the Kirby logo that matches his colors, I definitely love ring fit adventure, we all still wish they make ring fit adventure 2 someday and I think that’s all of my likings of the classic and modern titles of the games I love. I prefer the Breath of the Wild style of Zelda logo, and 10:10 the Switch remake of Link Awakening also have that same BotW style logo. Pikmin 4 was a such downgrade with the logo. Also, the font used in the New Super Mario Bros. series and Wonder is based from the original NES Super Mario Bros. game logo.

You missed Chibi Robo, which has had a fairly significant change between the original logo and Ziplash. Anyway. My opinions on all the old vs new for the logos you featured (I think): * Luigi's Mansion - Like them both, slight preference for LM3's logo. * Silver Metroid is my favourite, which they're still using a version of for the MP4 logo if you look the final logo for that game up. Kind of weird to me that they're using the black version (in whatever colour is appropriate) for 2d games and the silver one for Prime games. * I like both Kirby logos, I don't have a real preference. * Pikmin 3 is my favourite. The grass outlining the text rather than just being a flat texture, without the almost complete 'debranding' of the modern Pikmin logo. * I hate that I prefer the modern FE logo, considering I usually hate debranding, but for a franchise like Fire Emblem where the themes and the context of the game varies so wildly from entry to entry a basic, debranded, logo that you can then build off of to do individual game branding around makes a ton of sense - Final Fantasy logo style until they stopped really putting the silhouettes behind the title, a quick search indicates with XI? (The fact that Fire Emblem games don't really do anything with the logo beside give it colours is a separate problem) * Kid Icarus... I think I prefer the later logo, though I don't think that logo would have suited the original game or vice versa. * Prefer the later Starfox logo. * Prefer the later Punch Out logo. * Prefer the current Yoshi logo. That's a good illustration of what I mean when I say Fire Emblem suits a simple logo, actually, even if the way Yoshi's logo is customized for the individual game wouldn't work for Fire Emblem. * Prefer the angular nature of the Jungle Beat logo, but it's a very slight preference. The Country logo is solid, particularly with the Returns making the Country into the same style as the Donkey Kong. * Mario Party 9-10, Island Tour and Star Rush are probably my favourites. A sparklier version of the 4-7 logo, stylized in broadly the same way. * For Mariokart, I prefer the modern DS onwards logo for it. It communicates that the game is a racing game better to me. * For Mario Golf, Toadstool Tour for me. * Mario Tennis, the modern logo. * BotW era Zelda logo is the perfect stylization of the ALTTP through to Triforce Heroes logo for BotW. It should not be being used on non-Hero of the Wild games, and the ALTTP through Triforce Heroes logo is better for the franchise overall (As we see it used for Link's Awakening and the upcoming Echoes of Wisdom). There isn't a reason for the logo to have that decayed look in non-Hero of the Wild games. * Prefer the modern logo for F-Zero. I get where you're coming from, but nothing in the original logo communicates racing, while the modern one does to me. * Animal Crossing is actually a good example of Nintendo resisting the 'debranding' trend of simplifying logos (for some of their properties), going in the exact opposite direction by adding detail in. * For Mario - 3d Super Mario logo for 3d Land onwards for me. I really dislike the font they've been using for 2d Mario games since New Super Mario, and I prefer having it at an angle rather than face on as per the Sunshine through Galaxy 3d logo (While also not really liking the older still 'smaller o' version of the Mario font) * Wario Land 3 for me. * Smash 2014-2018 for me. The modern Smash logo pushes the simplicity that little bit too far, while the added stylization on to the prior 2001-2014 logos really works for me. * Paper Mario is the First Thousand Year Door remake logo for me. Hope they keep that pop-up look going forward. * Modern Mario & Luigi logo for me. With the normal & rather than the weird one they used to use. * Modern Mario vs Donkey Kong

Actually, every Xenoblade game had a slightly different logo, the X has different effects, 1 is a paint brush, 2 is fire, and X and 3 are particles.
