For me it's always been Ichiro's throw. That happened before anyone really knew who he was. The ball doesn't have a high arcing trajectory. It doesn't "fall" into place, it's a frozen rope. Right into Russ Davis' (I think) glove, at tag height, no sweeping tag required. Amazing.

That was opening day of the 2001 season. I was at that game and we were all stunned by Ichiro. He completely dominated that series all together and put the A’s into a tailspin for about two months. This particular throw was foretelling as Terrence Long was the runner. When all was said and done that season it turned out that Ichiro beat out Terrence Long for rookie of the year. Go figure..

I think the Bo Jackson throw would narrowly edge out them all if there was a full camera view of the play. Nobody thought it was even a possibility considering it was in one of the larger ball parks, a deep ball, and he threw out one of the fastest and best base runners in the league. It was almost eerie. I always wondered how far he could throw a football too. 🤷‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️💪

I remember seeing that throw live on TV. I was excited to see him get the out, but my dad sat there jaw open saying how amazed he was that just happened. It finally sunk in hearing the announcers as well on how incredible of a throw that was and grasping exactly what I had exactly just witnessed. That Ichiro throw was always the 2nd throw I think about, but that Dave Parker throw was pretty amazing in my book, never seen that one before.

The Dave Parker throw was during the 1979 Allstate Game. He threw a runner out at third in that game and won the MVP because of those 2 throws. I am a lifelong Pirate Fan, so, Clemente and Parker were the ones to watch for me.

I'm a fan of the game. I used to watch the Pirates during the 2:47 when I was a kid. Those teams were awesome. Stargell, Phil Garner, Tim Foley, Bill Madlock, Dave Parker, Omar Moreno, Ed Ott, and that reliever throwing an upper sidearm, Kent Takulve. Excuse my spelling. And those uniforms were the best. I was at a game where Dwight Evans was playing right field throw out one player on a pop fly to Dwight. The player was on second and tried to take third. Three innings later Dwight threw out the same player a second time trying to advance to third. He threw him out two at third. He tried to test Dwight's arm a third time but faked an attempt. Dwight still threw the ball to third and would have gotten him out a third time. Dwight had a hand cannon!

That Bo Jackson throw always terrific and I would assume there was no bounce I would think which is why I always wanted another angle to make sure of that. My favorite outfielder with a canon of an arm has always been Jessie Barfield there's not enough footage out there to do it justice for the young ones to see. Dave Parker's throw looked amazing as you said, more powerful than the Japanese player at the start but the camera angles were different so that may have to do with my saying that. Jose Guillen's bullet throw from the warning track in right field to third with no bounce and caught chin high by the 3rd basemen has been my favorite for a while now though.

The Bo Jackson throw is iconic. This video doesn’t get the best shot of it, but I think we’ve all seen it. When I was a kid and I watched that throw on ESPN, it literally looked like it broke the laws of gravity. The ball just kept flying through the air on such a straight trajectory and refused to drop any altitude!! We don’t see athletes like that anymore these days…I don’t think we ever will. Everything is so specialized nowadays and contracts are so litigious. Just imagine an MLB team allowing a premiere player to spend their off-season playing in the NFL!! 😂😂😂 No fucking way! Players back, then were paid nicely, but not like the contracts were seeing nowadays.
