I solved it by knowing 2^16 is 2^10 * 2^6... and having memorized powers of 2 up to 10. 2^10 = 1024, and 2^6 = 64. Clearly 1024 * 64 > 8888.

I also noticed that for approximations, each 1000 is another 2^10. One thousand is 2^10, one million is 2^20, one billion is 2^30, one trillion is 2^40...
