Wempe all the way! Far better quality! Amazing history and a stunning piece! Great video by the way

I love German watches. Wempe must be the best Rolex OP alternative. The only thing I would change are that unussual lugs. I would love to see Wempe/Tudor BB 36 comparison. Thank you. Keep the reviews comming.

I believe you undersold the movement in the Sinn. It used the top grade ETA 2824, which is the same as the chronometer grade but has not been sent to COSC
@Watch-Maxe_En3 жыл бұрын
That‘s right. Sinn always uses high class movements.

The Wempe seems the nicest watch of the two, the Sinn looks somewhat more a tool watch but a very good executed one, as I like that style I would prefer the Sinn. I liked your review, well done.

Thanks a lot. Both are great watches - each in a different way.

Very good photography with good lighting by the way and a naturally honest voice. I meant to mention that in my previous comment

The Sinn would be my choice. I like the size and the price. It’s hard to beat the value for money offered by Sinn. Thanks for another interesting and informative video.

Thanks for watching. I swapped the Sinn for the Wempe, as I have a couple of sporty every day watches, and was looking for a a more shiny watch.

I love Sinn, I owned a lovely Sinn 104 for years, now I am waiting for a 40mm, iron walker in white/silver

Great choice. Both watches.

Very informative review, step by step comparison is helpful. Have held the Wempe at their NY City store, very substantial in every way, Fit and finish, build quality and design all first rate. Now I’m seeing the Sinn is such a good competitor, if more tool like in nature. My problem is seeing and holding one to help decide. Both watches are very desirable, this Sinn seems to be an excellent value. Just overlaps with my Explorer 214270 too much. Have to learn more about the Sinn lineup.

Thank you very much. The 556 is a real good value for money. On my channel you will find 5 556 Videos in total (kzbin.info/aero/PLSdTON1wKLvmVWwjqH0ksh6Bh1v_Sk-qy) and many other Sinn watches (kzbin.info/aero/PL28VG9fNinwC60xurcUUxwj3P93y_pXdj).

That Wempe is a beauty. It seems to have sold out online though (40th anniversary in blue)

My watch is the standard one, not the anniversary.

excellent review, not much between the two watches, I looked at both last week. The Sinn watches are very well made and look much better in person than on video, but I just wish they had a touch more pizzaz. I notice the Sinn's have increased in price quite a bit recently. The Wempe is a great watch, but sits a bit funny on the wrist.
@Watch-Maxe_En4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. For me, the Wempe is really convenient. I think it depends on the wrist shape.

A very good review. However, I think your comments about jewellers' watches vs in-house needs a future video, rather than being used as a quick comparison point. Jewellers were an important part of watch retail and development as you know. Low-end jewellers did, and still do, sell mass-produced watches, be it Timex, Smiths, Rolex etc. High end jewellers traditionally sold their branded watches made up of whatever movements and cases they could source. They were good quality, if they were to be sold in Bond St. or 5th Avenue. Hence Cartier, Mappin & Webb and indeed, Wempe. Modern Wempe is interesting. Priced high because they're made in Glashutte almost certainly, but with a Swiss movement. Could not someone at Wempe walk down the street of a lunchtime and ring the doorbell of their neighbours? But they seem to be trying to sell a very expensive watch that appeals to all. Perhaps they will, in the same way that the claw Constellation has, or the Aikon, or even the Oysterquartz. The Sinn is surely a completely different niche ? Lovely watch, but very different and appealing to a completely different taste. Feels like comparing a 44mm case to a 36mm. A Portuguese to a mad Seiko crammed with GPS etc. But keep up the great work. By the way, I'm British and love German watchmaking, and generally have a somewhat warped love of German engineering skills. I'm afraid to say that I am deeply uncomfortable with Luftwaffe heritage being used by some watchmakers, and I think that some of them (Laco, pointing at you) need to reconsider their marketing,. On the other hand, perhaps they're being honest. I appreciate your videos and the work that goes into them. Thanks.

Thank you very much for you long and detailed comment. Agree, that the role of jewellers in the watch making history deserves a more detailed feature. However, I am not sure how this well fits into my focus to German watch brands. But I will suggest it to some other Creators. I fully understand your discomfort when it comes to historical Flieger watches. But with that, it would be fine to have a similar feeling about field watches, dive watches (which had a military background). Unfortunately, more often than I like, war is the mother of invention.

Very interesting and useful video. vempe very nice watch but price for sinn plus screw down crown beats vempe though. In my opinion obviously. Thanks for your work ☺️
@Watch-Maxe_En4 жыл бұрын
Wempe also has a screw down crown, a Chronometer certificat and the by far better finish. Is it worth the additional price? It a question of personal preferences, I would say. I swapped the Sinn for the Wempe
