@@thecopfamily8115 The primary Unity riser people talk about is like 100$ on a good day. That's not all that crazy honestly. Still expensive, but not insane. A lot of them from other companies and even other models from Unity are like over 200$ though. For me, that's an insane asking price when you can get a YHM or a UTG riser for 20 bucks.

EOTECH needs to license the Unity magnifier flip up mount, sorry guys hanging the magnifier out left or right just sets it up for damage or snagging it on something. Also the glass hanging out to the side needs a cover or flash kill where as the Unity lowers below the line of sight of the EOTECH and raises to be inline without anyone being able to see the glass reflection and nothing hanging off the side.

I feel like the eye box on the magnifiers used in this video were set up wrong. Every shooter is different, but for me when I run a magnifier I have to get in pretty close to gain a good sight picture.

The irregular defense riser has long and short extensions for front and back of their main riser that will allow you to bring that magnifier way back. Also what they fail to mention is with a riser you will want a riser for your stock to get you inline with that higher sight. I have the Magpul CTR stock with their stock riser.

For those on the low end, Brownell's has a riser similar to Overbore's for 52.99 that provides .75" - combine it with an EXPS/558 and you get a 3.5" approx HOB, similar to what the more hyped risers provide.

They are rock solid, light weight and hold zero. For example, on my budget 7.62x39 AR build my Holosun HE510C-GR is 1.41" above rail. Mounted on the 1" 3 slot riser brings it to 2.41". And on the .5" riser its 1.91". That's comparable to my scalarworks 1.93 and unity's 2.6. Trust me, you can't tell the 0.2" difference.

Great vid & great topic. "Perfect sight alignment" would be to place your eye along the bore of your rifle, which is obviously not realistically possible. Even iron sights are "above bore"..... So what is the optimum height of an optic system on a rifle? Can't be zero (physically not possible). 12 inches? Obviously too high. Hmmm...

The average Americans total head to face ratio divided by the average flexibility times length of the neck is how they came up with the different hight risers. Fo to your local gun store and ask them to perform these measurements for you so you can pick the correct riser.

ADM XLR is hot garbage, only put 60rds of M855 down range, and one of the securing clips sheared off. Completely unacceptable for a mount that costs over $200 (titanium version). Save your money and buy the unity.

If you aren’t using a magnifier you can use which ever riser you like to get whatever hight you like with the xps. My son has an xps on the Unity riser on a mk18 clone and it’s the perfect hight for him.
