I used to be Western philosophy person but since 4 months I'm more into Eastern philosophy and it improved my mental health but when i start to listen to religious gurus about scriptures I've noticed they are forcing us to convince that what they say hold truth regardless they've good solutions for all the problems but when i start to question scriptures i internally felt that I'm doing something wrong abd fall into a nihilistic state and trying to find a answer for my self and your video cleared my mind , it was really helpful Daksh thank you so much ❤

Actually what I have OBSERVED, LEARNED and EXPERIENCED that there is no doubt that western philosophy is leading us to open the new paths and finds the reality and push us to work hard to live a better mere life but it is not only that i have also learnt that we also need to work for the society because ultimately we are going to take nothing with ourselves after death.... We need to be a good human being to work for humanity so firstly make your life happy when you are at least to a certain extent satisfied that you don't need to cry for food for living a good life then you should contribute to the society not to those people who are jealous of you and are trying to pull you back (they are your biggest enemy)but to those who are not jealous of you or atleast who will never think to harm you directly or indirectly or who are poor,needy, you will find happiness you will find more meaning in your life...(when a person knows reality he starts forgiving every body even if someone is life threatening he starts stay away from them) As we humans are evolved with love,emotions also.... it is all like the Gandhiji's philosophical view that when you have enough to live a decent life then you should devote your earnings for the common good...... At last there will remain only these thing above all even not money i,e LOVE,RESPECT,COMPASSION, HUMANITY

Hello Dakshbhai im preparing for a competitive exam along with job , i am very much inclined in knowing the deeper truths and have read some of both western & eastern content. So by watching western content there it says mostly everyone is there for their own self interest once its achieved their priorities , behaviour changes. Like im struggling so much in time management as during IT job hours bunch of my team folks come to me for help which i always do considering eastern philosophy but it generally ends up in consuming lot of time which makes me short of time for my own goals upliftment ! From some days i have been working in DND mode i.e ignoring all messages from them for more self focus but then teammates say too much focus will create seperation between me & them ! Is possible can you please address this scenario like an aspirant what should he do if he is preparing along with job and fulfulling all responsibilities. Whether he should turn a complete selfish of his time he is investing on other or he should try to balance doing both ? Which way will lead to personal goal completion along with balancing others ??? Right now i m completely disconnected from social media , due to distraction and it appears to others as a ignorance self centered face so am i doing correct or not as i only have this year to chase my dream !

Just to get it out of the way, Hinduism has many schools of philosophy in itself and also gives the right to question anything and everything. Even the idea of Dharma = a way of life. The concept of 'religion' is actually very foreign. For example, we do not have any specific book to follow. we have Vedas, Upnishads, Puranas, Gitas etc I am not a person who wants to spread any hatred here, I love stoicism and hinduism both.
@DakshJindal9 ай бұрын
Yes exactly. But again 95% Hindus today haven’t read any of that. As I said in the video I talk about the popular form of philosophy which most people follow. Most Hindus believe Gita has all the answers similarly other religious groups. I dive deep into this particular way of thinking.

@DakshJindal9 ай бұрын
Hmm again this separation that if you choose something else along with a religious book is not good. Most people have already chosen western philosophy by buying mobile phones and using internet which is a result of questioning things and improving lives

2:10 The pros and cons analysis was excellent. I frequently debate with my father on this topic i.e. about the pros and cons of different philosophies, he leans a bit towards the East but I hope he'll find your video helpful. I recently shared your channel with him, and the day before yesterday I found him reading Emerson, and he told me that you inspired him to do that. As usual, that video was amazing. I highly recommend you read Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. It tackles some really grand philosophical themes through a sci-fi lens, being primarily a sci-fi reader, I think it is a philosophy book disguised as sci-fi. Please consider giving it a read, I hope you'll like it. Thank you for the video. ❤

Thank you for such a beautiful story. I am very glad that you and your dad talk about such profound topics. This is a sign of a very healthy household. I will definitely give Cloud Atlas a try as well 🙌

Most of the Western philosophy is the reality of life and reality is always disappointing that's why the people who read it are depressed. But Most of the Eastern philosophy is the imagination of an Eternal Entity and imagination is always appealing to the masses.

I watched 3 minutes of video, and I had to stop because there are so many errors here. 1. "Liberalism" never originated from Socrates. It rose to prominence through the Enlightenment Era (17th & 18th Century) while Socrates live around 3rd Century BCE. This is quite an over exaggeration from your end to state that liberalism came through Socrates. 2. Questioning doesn't lead you to become "ultra-left" and it doesn't always reach the conclusion that life is meaningless. I have no idea how you are spewing such random ideas. Please read/research before posting online. Philosophy gets a bad rep because of such generalizations that people often make. Feel free to revert back if you think I'm wrong here.
@DakshJindal9 ай бұрын
1. Francis Bacon, Thomas Hobbes and Rene Descartes were some of the key figures for the Enlightenment era. All 3 were inspired by Aristotle’s ideas. Aristotle was a student of Plato and Plato a student of Socrates. 2. Questioning led to a branch called nihilism which rejects all the religious principles and moral principles. Similarly questioning the church led to separation between church and state which led to Industrial Revolution leading to capitalism with a sole aim of maximising human consumption at the cost of the environment.
@Shyamkumar-bw9kw8 ай бұрын
Libreliam came in west now but just inquire How bhartiya sanatan civilisation and culture is libral by its very nature and core world view. And U told about questioning then U can See upnishands and geeta also which is only question and answer. U can also check six philosophy branch of hindu culture. Secularism is India's nature not a forced or contemplated ideology
@DakshJindal8 ай бұрын
Good arguments. I wish every Hindu is well read like you. But unfortunately as I said in the start of the video, most Hindus don’t read scriptures and believe in the vague religious philosophy described in the video. I completely agree with you if you go deep into indian philosophy it covers everything but very few people do that.
