The Mariners wouldn't want prospects for Castillo. They'd want an MLB-ready position player (probably at 2B or 3B) with years of control in return, 100%. We're talking about a guy who's easily a No. 2 starter on a playoff-caliber team playing on a very reasonable contract.

Nolan Arenado would actually be a really good fit for the Yankees. His contract was front loaded and the Rockies are paying a portion of it every year. He has a no trade clause so I don’t think he would go to a team like the mariners. The way his contract is set up would make it viable for the Yankees to take on

TO rebuttal trev on that there are no bad one year deals, Brewers paid Wade Miley 7 mill for 2 starts before going down with tj. Last thing a team would want is to dump all that money for a 1 year deal just to lose a pitcher immediately.
