I like this kind of content. I'd love to see you double it up and show one set of containers with the soil straight out of the bag and another set that you amend specifically to make up for the deficiencies that the soil tests show. It'd help make it more clear just how much supplementing helps and prove that all of these mixes would work if supplemented correctly. I'd even appreciate seeing a third set with biochar and humic acid in them, instead of supplemental fertilizers.

I appreciate the video it really made picking out some soul mix for my raise bed a bit easier. Though I’m curious about one thing that could be an interesting experiment for you. My grandmother used to grind up oats and add them to tomato’s as they flowered she said it made the fruit “bigger and taste better”. I’d like to know if this is just some myth or has some merit.

Vigoro seems to be loaded with wood chips compared to others. I’ve found vigoro does great when you get the C to N ratio correct with fish fertilizer. I’ve been giving it 15-1-1 fish hydrolysate once per week and seeing far better results.

I'm going to do my first MySoil test in the fall. I've been reusing the soil for 4 grows now, I want to see where it stands. It probably needs some of the material removed and some fresh peat needs to be added. Even with the perlite, it's probably dense. Everything in the oldest soil is very short. Healthy and lots of fruit but short.

@@SoiLab I've been working on a custom fertilizer blend for 2 years now. Like you guys, I've done so many comparative experiments using different fertilizer, soil mixture using peat, Coco or a mix of the 2. Now that I found a mix that works visually, I want to get the numbers to back that up. So I'll be sending "spent" soil as well as amended soil to see how the numbers stack up. I wish I would have had the funds to do tests along the way but it is what it is.
