i love those sound from green switch, and my wife loves it as well (so glad !!). If you love the noise and living alone, go for green, you'll be addicted to the clicky sound

yellow switch sounds woody-like, but i still stick with my green ones because they are so clicky and loud :D, but my parents hate it when i played games at midnight lol.. btw great content brainbean !

Rama Pranawa I have a keyboard with gateron blue switches which is basically the same as Razer green and Cherry blue, I love typing on it, but I have other keyboards too that are quiet exactly for that reason, not to bother family members at night or when I’m out of my home, in school for example (I carry a 60% linear switch keyboard in my backpack to use with my laptop, as I hate most laptop keyboards

could you do this test with some o-rings below the switches, the y generally make it quieter and key bottoming shorter, but it seems i need to upgrade to an orange switch.

I wish I could tell just how loud each is. I don't want it to be so loud that it becomes annoying to people in my house or headset, but I do enjoy a bit of a clack to my typing. I have a red dragon kumara right now, which I think corresponds to mx blues, and it's just a tad too loud and wakes up my 6 year old on saturday morning when daddy is trying to sneak some gaming in. How would those compare to green or orange?

Being I've used the Chroma V2 with Green switches for a year but now improving my twitch channel using a mixer and XLR microphone, it picks up too much clicking from my keyboard and from my Orbweaver. So I just ordered two new ones with Orange switches to help improve my stream and videos!!

My problem with razer orange/cherry brown etc is... The actuation point is actually below the feelable bump. I easilly press the button to it, and dont actuate - while gaming, thats no problem while typing, where you hammer more from top anyways. :3

Hey I have a quick question, your feedback would really help me a lot on my purchase. I’m looking at getting a black widow chroma V2?. I like the idea that the yellow switches are linear but I’m worried that if I’m typing it’s going to push the keys to quickly for me. I really like the orange and the green. The green I actually like the most hands down but my wife thinks it will be too loud haha. What would your recommendation be for the type of razor switch that I get? Green (tactile clicks and loud, I would have to get o rings for less sound but I’ve heard it barely makes a difference) Or would you go with the orange ? I felt like it has absolutely no type of feedback or click like the green switch. I know the actuation point is lower but it seems like it’s almost hollow. Or the yellow, I’ve heard this is the best for FPS but makes typing almost impossible. I’m wanting to play overwatch and pubg and a few other FPS games. Based on that what would b your reccomendation? I sure wish the orange switch was the same click as the green just without the high pitch sounds. Any help would be great Lee appreciated, and you’ve definitely earned yourself a subscriber. Also I got the Logitech g900 mouse so I was kind of thinking to switch it to a death adder elite or chroma, but I’m really loving this mouse. I’ll probably get the razerkeyboard mouse rgb pad and headphones so it will match besides the mouse. Is it stupid to get two types of brands? I know that you need to run to software to run them both at the same time. Also if anyone can help me sync my Logitech mouse with my keyboard that would b awesome. Orange switches give you that’s smooth press quite sound and that nice tactile sound that is not that loud enough o distract others but good enough for the person using it

I play a lot of FPS games like R6S and CS:GO, and I think either yellow or orange would be right for me. I am leaning towards yellow, but I don't want it to be "too" reactive. Like if I barely pressed it, would it register? Orange sounds like it would be pretty good too. I just don't know which one. Please help!

Thanks for the kind words :) The yellow switch is actually more comparable to the Cherry MX Speed though, it's basically just a Cherry Red with shorter actuation and total travel distance.

I love randomfrankP as well but I have to admit I preferring your reviews - it could be the room lighting - yours is easier on the eyes - random frank tends to use bright glaring white - I know that's illumination is paramount for web bloggers but I prefer your lighting and the way you speak - keep it up - :)

For the Blackwidow v2, would you recommend orange or yellow? My computer is 90% for gaming: I play Overwatch the most, otherwise FPS's, and I'll type for the other 10%. Since the yellow is newer tech, it's tempting, but I'm not sure how bad it'll affect my writing.

I would recommend yellow or orange. In your case you will probably do just fine with yellow. Once you get used to it typing will be no problem.
