I like that Spider-Man ps4 in the background. I look at it like this. Systems popularity going down is a positive thing for actual gamers. Now some of these games will be obtainable with prices going down.

I agree with you. For example, OG XBox games are dirt cheap. With the exception of a few standout titles. Alot of PS3 titles are pretty cheap as well

I think NES is going down because everyone who had nostalgia for it basically has all the games they want now, everyone was talking about the NES since the start of retro gaming channels, not much new to say or collect about the NES. Meanwhile, I believe the Wii will be next to go up in value, obviously not too sure by how much since the wii sold so much more than the gamecube, but people that grew up with the wii will be in their 30's in a little over 5 years, and when people get in their 30's they have their disposable income and want to relive their childhood games. The same for early 2000's toys, no one is really talking about them right now but soon so many will go up in value, you're already seeing a lot of people talking about "fruitger aero" that early 2000's technology vibe. Giving everyone a heads up now, start buying wii games and early 2000's toys before the prices shoot up.

As someone who grew up in the 2000's on the Nintendo DS/Wii/Xbox 360 and during the Windows XP era, I might start buying more old games and consoles after reading your comment.

Matt has always said that Wii and XBox 360 games will start to go up in value. Things that hit that 20 yr mark seems to jump in value

Nintendo is always a good bet and the Wii will be interesting to see. I feel like only a small section of the library will be highly sough after since there was so much shovelware pushed out on the platform. - Matt

@CbassMajor What new is there to collect for any retro system more than twenty years old? Take the nes and its library out of you collection and look at how much more bare it is.

With all the talk of system popularity, it's not surprising that the Game Boy is ignored. While not the highest numbers, the interest level is evergreen, spanning multiple generations and thousands of games across the three platforms and multiple regions. It has a low accessibility cost but offers higher cost personalization. The DS /3DS library is similar. Handhelds are often overlooked in these discussions.

We talk about how handhelds are hot right now in our previous video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIjVloVjrpJ3a5Y . I def would agree that OG Gameboy and even GBC don't get the same love as GBA and all the various DS consoles. GB and GBC have tons of great games that are far less discussed in comparison to most other handhelds. I do feel that GBA and DS are really popular right now and 3DS has continued to slowly gain momentum as well. - Matt

What all on master system would you say is worth going back to today?
@wesleystewart27092 күн бұрын
I still play Out Run often on the Master System. But I also go back and play Rambo, R-Type, Golvellius, Spellcaster, and Thunder Blade too
@deadvikingtrollsКүн бұрын
@wesleystewart2709 Rambo might be my most compelling reason for master system, good pick. I missed this one when I was a kid, went nes/genesis/snes and so have little to no attachment to this one. Seems like a shame.

@deadvikingtrolls I was an arcade kid growing up, and Sega was known for their arcade games. So I gravitated to the Master System just because it was Sega. I didn't get a NES until way later

@wesleystewart2709 What's awesome to me is back then I didn't even know there were options. I grew up thinking sonic was the first sega game and it wasn't even a genesis launch title. Would have loved to happen across this strange little box and double dragon as a kid.

@deadvikingtrolls yeah, that was an awesome feeling playing Double Dragon in the arcade, then playing it at home. If you decide to jump into a Master System, I hope you enjoy it
