Have you ever noticed the stance you choose when shooting?

Awesome way to explain to a beginner. Instead of stating that the Weaver position is the only way. I appreciate you opening the door to what makes a person comfortable and the shooting stance will be different, yet not wrong. This confirms there are moee ways than one to fire a gun. Thanks you!

Chapman (modified weaver ) stance has some advantages.

I have always liked the modified Weaver stance, however, if someone is shooting at me I will be heading to cover and not standing in one place as a target. I realize there could be times in which there is no time to find cover.

Agreed! Definitely head to cover if it's available to you. Thanks for your comment!

You realize that Weaver only shot that way due to a left arm disability. Both feet toes to the target so your natural point of aim is too the target and not fighting your muscular and skeletal structure, natural mechanics your not twisted. Upper body will be in a Isosceles position which is more natural to be able to keep the firearm point at target and arms slightly bent to absorb recoil with wrists locked.

It wasn't Weaver who had the problem with his arm. Col. Jeff Cooper who taught Weaver fell on ice in Washington D.C. just after the war and that led to a exaggerated Weaver. He also probably was near sighted.. Weaver is two hands together from a rifle stance. Others' pull the gun into the body and teach the biceps against the torso. Also don't squeeze a trigger. People have been squeezing things all their lives with their entire hand. Don't tell them that. Tell them to PRESS a trigger and isolate the trigger finger.
