Which Six Flags Parks Are Getting New Coasters in 2024?

Six Flags is finally back to adding new thrill rides to their parks! The rumor mill has been churning lately, so today, I'll be going over which parks I think will be getting new roller coasters in 2024! There's a list of parks that have been teasing new additions, so I'll breakdown each park's chances of getting a new roller coaster one by one!

I recently went to Darien lake and found out a BUNCH of exciting news. I actually met the manager of the park and asked him about new additions. He said 2024 they will retract another 300 feet of predator as well as adding a 2nd train to Superman and revamping it to make feel like when it first came out in 1999.

@@amusementscapethere is also some bad news tho he said no new roller coasters or flat rides will be coming soon. Instead refurbishment. Like new vest restraints on viper and mind eraser. He also mentioned the new Dinosaur car ride at new England and how lily tizzys might be re themed to something similar

It has such a great layout and great airtime, it just hurts my poor legs when I’m on it, so I end up skipping it every time I’m there 😢. I hope they complete the titan retracking this upcoming season as well!

Darien lake needs a giant discovery where the old wheel used to be or a Park expansion in the old grizzly run and the old barracuda bay area, or put a new coaster in that area.

I find it creative of how SFOG decided to have someone parody a news report of a crate being shipped to the park that would later an Ultra Surf being announced at their Coaster Fest event. They even parodied their local news channel as WSF 67 action news

Six flags isn’t necessarily stingy with their coasters.. its been like a year since selim became the ceo, big coasters take years to plan and build. For now they’re doing their best by adding off the shelve coasters… I say we start getting large scale coasters again around 2026-2027.

My Six Flags park is Great America and I definitely agree all the clues are pointing towards a Zamperla Giga Discovery Wheel on the old Dare Devil Dive site. However there is an unaccounted land plot where Buccaneer Battle was and the Winners Circle go karts right next to it that has been rumored for removal or relocation. Those two areas combined could make space for a larger attraction down the road.

Six flags St.louis is going to open Rookie Racer for the 2023 season The new general manager has stated that the park is getting something for the 2024 season

St. Louis will announce something the GM confirmed and SFDK was teasing something for 2024 months ago so I expect an announcement from them too. I’d also keep an eye out for Over Texas and Great Escape (though you mentioned that one).

SFA is also relocating a few rides from their Whistlestop area to other areas of the park, so it’s likely they’re removing that whole section soon. No telling how many rides will be staying just yet, nor what’ll happen to the Coyote Creek area.

Looks like Six Flags New England is Getting the Short end of the stick again next year. Last Season All we got a crappy dinosaur retheme of Wacky Wheelz. Maybe some day Six Flags could give us a raptor or Max Force Clone.

SFSTL needs a replacement for Excalibur. also maybe a thrill coaster because there due one for 11 years at the point. also the general manager said hes on team RMC after say a question about the boss. so maybe RMC boss and that can include 1 or 2 more small rides

They are stupidly going on a huge spending spree, just like what got them in trouble in the first place. Instead of Cedar Fairs smarter steady investment approach. SFA is getting a few new garbage cans, too.

I thing great America will get swinging ride not coaster and the swinging ride they have be removed as it’s junk. For coaster they need to refresh the eagle as it’s in bad shape so I can see capital restoring that ride

My boldest predictions Six flags great America and six flags over Texas will receive some b&m coasters to come (floorless or standup) Six flags great adventure will get an RMC hybrid in the future having 3 inversions Six flags American will get a launch intamin coaster with no inversions in the future Fiesta Texas will destroy pandemonium to put a flat ride there Magic mountain will most likely rebuild scream to make it less rough and less headbanging Over Georgia will rebuild Georgia scorcher as a floorless coaster

Why would SFOG want to convert their stand-up into a floorless? That should be only done if riders find it uncomfortable riding while standing-up. By any means, their stand-up is considered to be the best out of all of the ones that currently exist.
