The copper belt buckle you have is so fukn badass too obviously being a welder I’m into diff kinds of metal but patinated copper or brass is just so nice. Thanks again

I have the same Viper and love it. The blade on mine sits just the tiniest bit proud and I need to always use a slip or it will occasionally snag in the pocket. It’s the only swayback I have that has that issue. I may try to lower it, but don’t want to go too far and get blade rap. Did you have to mess with yours, or did your’s sit lower from the time you bought it?

I’ve done that on one of my GECs. Got a file and took the tiniest bit off the… what’s it called the knock or something? The part of the tang that hits and stops the blade when closing. Just go a little bit at a time and you should be fine

Did quick search and it doesn’t look too bad. Might allow the spring to sit a little less perfectly flush but likely not noticeable. I tend to be shy about doing stuff that can’t be undone - so little bit at a time appears to be the ticket. And saw where folks refer to it as the “kick”. Here I am learning stuff on a Monday……

Do you have any tips on maintaining the smooth action on your slips? I’ve had gravely action develop, especially in my serge and somewhat in others.

Put a drop of lube where the backspring rubs on the tang. Open and close it about ten times, then get a q-tip and and clean out that area, there will be dark grime in there. Repeat until the stuff that comes out is relatively clear
