Fantastic Thom Ty .... The analogies you use when explaining hit home straight away and "Eureka" things start to make sense all at once 👌

These WESTIN soft plastics are proven to catch fish. I do like them but they are on the pricey side. Love your videos and been watching YPC series. The Ginger chap is right there behind you he is a good all round KZbinr. Like yourself down to earth and very knowledgeable. Good luck to all.

Yes, we’re always looking for ways to make them more affordable, but Westin focuses on always wanting to produce the best they can, and try to make proven fish catchers. Personally I think a few extra pence is worth it, especially when we don’t spend money on plenty of things like seat boxes, rod rests, ground bait etc etc

Good vid! I do like your vids, you have a great way of explaning things dude 👏 i like real eels for a slowly worked curly tail. And your right on paddles, loads of poeple use them, so its good to do summit different. I just got some of the westin zander rep shads, they looks superb! In headlight of course 😂

Great to see you back, great content as always. Learn so much every time, could you use the pin/vee tail on the carolina rig or would the curly tail be best ?
@Thomhuntfishing Жыл бұрын
Yes curly tails are perfect for Carolina. A V tail does tend to work best when fished direct so the twitches transfer to the lure….. on a Carolina a v tail I fear really wouldn’t be doing much

I’ve really gotta give curly tails another chance! Great video mate … lots to take away 👍👌

Great video, I don't have too much in the way of curley tail lures, but appreciate you spelling it out for us noobs. Now off to watch your collab with Nick Marsh on his channel
@Thomhuntfishing Жыл бұрын
Yes curly tails aren’t as popular but when everyone fishes shads, doing something different can be a real winner. I love fishing with Nick he’s such a top guy. 👌

Hi Tom, bit of a detailed question. My big curly tails (14-20cm) never seem to run straight, they always kick out to one side, even if my rod is directed towards the lure. Any idea of how to best fish these baits without that happening?
@Thomhuntfishing Жыл бұрын
When you say kick out to one side do you mean like a jerk bait or do you mean they have a tendency to always drift off to one side?
@fin1493 Жыл бұрын
The second way, they tend to drift out to one side on the retrieve@@Thomhuntfishing
@Thomhuntfishing Жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, occasionally I get that with crankbaits but not soft plastics. Make sure the jig head or nose screw is centralised and make sure the tail has its natural curve going up or down, not to one side 👍
@mikebusby3353 Жыл бұрын
Thoughts on paddle tails or flukes for drop shotting ?
@Thomhuntfishing Жыл бұрын
Yes I like both for DS. I tend to fish quite small on DS so 5cm or 7.5cm Shadteez slim, Bloodteez or the little 6.5cm TwinTeez mini is fantastic

Hi thom great stuff mate just found your channel via the latest comp you were in 👍...I've just spoke to ady (mason) and we were saying no ones beating bartlett in his own backyard lol but great ideas and wish I'd found you earlier ...big shout to nick Marsh too for the perch Masters vids you were in ... opened up a new world for a predominantly pike angler ...now I'm finessing and nedding lol check me out ... Overall great content mate loved it binging your vids and its not too grim up north so if if you make it up here to Yorkshire one day drop us a message ...TC bro and keep it up !!

Hi Daren, cheers for the comment. Yeah so because the YPC you can fish anywhere unfortunately across the country it ends up very dependant on what venues you have access to/know well. But it’s great fun and the one comp I’m not too bothered about winning!
