Hi Caroline - as someone with super sensitive rosacea and eczema prone skin I struggle with spf's. The physical/mineral spf's are very drying on already dry skin and my skin won't tolerate a lot of rubbing in re redness. A high alcohol content is a complete no no as are many of the older chemical filters - ouch! I have been using the purito unscented centella spf50 pa++++ for months - new generation filters that don't sting on my face, no alcohol, no fragrance and smooths on without rubbing to a completely clear finish with no pilling/balling under makeup. This is really working for me well. i've ordered a Garnier spray (similar to the LRP one shown) for reapplication - hopefully Scotland still has some sunny days left in the Summer lol. I get prickly heat so I never sunbathe and I always seek the shade, so my sun exposure is incidental. I wear it every day I'm out of the house and if it's really sunny when I'm in my house too (I'm fitzpatrick shade one for reference). I have tried the murad primer and liked it as a secondary layer of protection, but it's expensive tbh. I will hunt out the SVR one to use as a primer though so many thanks. Best wishes. PS You're hair looks great and you suit the slightly bronzed glow you are sporting courtesy of james reed.

This is a fantastic Video, thank you so much because I don’t think I’ve seen anybody on Instagram or anywhere else recommend an SPF that helps people who have prickly heat so thank you, I’m lucky enough to say that I’ve tried at least half of those and Bondi Sands is great value at 75 mil for the price and the hydrating formula

I’ve been using the SVR one for a couple of weeks and love it. It stays put all day, really good when playing golf in all weathers, it coped with a good mixture of sun, wind and a deluge. I find I can use just this and a bit of under eye concealer on no make up days. I have a combination skin and it stops shiny nose and chin.

Another happy Saturday morning with Caroline. I too wear reef friendly products. I live near the beach in Florida & sunscreen is just part of daily life. My husband had a malignant melanoma on his cheek, it was frightening. Thanks for for the "international" round up. I have 2 already marked for purchase. Also, I bought the James Read spray on tan product. I just love it. It gives me a slight color thats doesn't look like obviously fake or orange, and it doesn't bleed on my sheets. 5stars!

Caroline, what a highly informative video! I started to develop melasma after my last pregnancy and it is exacerbated by the sun. So, I’ve been diving into the deep abyss of SPFs. It can be so confusing to find the one best for your needs but you’ve made it so clear!! So thank you very much!! I’ve been wearing Elta MD SPF 40 or 46 on my face for 2 Summers. Both of the sunscreens I’ve chosen from the line are tinted but I like the clear ones as well. They both have Zinc oxide in them which my dermatologist states can aide in lightening melasma. I’m sad there will only be 2 videos before your break but I’m so happy you get to enjoy a much needed break before all the Fall makeup trends start up. Thank you again and can’t wait for next week! 💜 🤗 💖

Caroline, if it’s ok, I’m going to DM you on Instagram about the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried - and I’ve tried a LOT - called Skinnies. The problem with most of these sunscreens that you’ve spoken about is that no one actually uses the quantity we’re meant to. A minimum of a quarter teaspoon is required (measure it out, it’s way more than you’d think!) otherwise you’re not getting the protection you think you are. Also, there’s no law for the correct quantity to appear on the packaging, so most of us are unaware and use a fraction of the quantity we’re meant to. Skinnies is made without water, so you only need a pea sized blob to achieve the full, stated spf. I consider it a miracle product because I used to be the idiot who spent 10 minutes every morning rubbing in that 1/4 teaspoon of product. Skinnies is like a light, silky balm that is easily rubbed in and even makes a lovely primer for makeup! I shall DM you on Insta, if that’s ok? xx

Caroline you are not wrong about Bondi Sands! I have facial sunscreens that are six times the price and this knocks their socks off. It imparts a beautiful glow (almost skin glass) that lasts all day . It works for my sensitive eyes too. Had never heard of it and I really love it. Thanks for recommendation.

You look lovely today! Great video - so important to use Reef-Friendly spf if you are going to the ocean. The standards are a little different in the US, but I would absolutely trust anything from Australia. If I'm going to be wearing makeup over my spf, I have found that the Neutrogena Hydro Boost spf 50 plays well with foundation. I use this for face and body. For a top up - I use the Supergoop spf 45 powder.

I currently use Madara (Latvian brand, but it is international nowadays, they came out with really cool makeup line recently too),spf 30,it is Natural, zinc oxide based with antioxidants and plant stem cells. I really like that one, very moisturising,no fragrance👍👍👍 btw,did you checked out Lily lolo brushes and makeup, did you like them??

This video couldn't have come at a better time for me, I am running really low on the white greasy goo, mixed with an equally greasy tinted goo that's too dark that I had been using to protect my face. I bought them online without trying samples of them first (don't do this! 😋). Couldn't afford to throw them out & nobody saw me most of the time anyway. So thank you very much Caroline! Your hair looks fab & I love the necklace & nails! X 🙂

For everyday, not too hot and not sitting out I like Emma Hardie Protect and Prime spf30. It's great under makeup and it smells of oranges. If it's really hot and I intend to sit out I wear Avene Cleanance spf50. It's matte and doesn't give me spots. It does have a bit of a white cast though but I'm pale so it doesn't matter too much. Does have a tendency to pile under makeup but I feel protected so I'm prepared to live with that. I always wear a hat when I sunbathe too. Thanks for the video and should I ever get to a beach I will get reef friendly suncream. At that price there's no excuse not to.

If you'd like something similar to Murad without the hefty price tag, I love Frezyderm velvet screen spf50 (they do other spfs and a big tube for the body which has exactly the same silicone-y primer like texture - www.amazon.co.uk/FREZYDERM-SPF-Velvet-Face-Sunscreen/dp/B007TSU0E2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Frezyderm+velvet&qid=1594461926&sr=8-1

The SVR product is calling to me with the matte dry down. My favorite line of sunscreens are Elta MD; they have a product for almost everyone's needs. In the humid Florida heat, I wear Elta MD Elements (a mineral, tinted block) and then top it with La Roche Posay Toleriane Teint Mineral Compact Powder. That combo serves as my foundation. To maintain protection, I love the Kate Somerville spray. As always, thanks for making my Saturday mornings bright

I was in superdrug today and compared the bondi sands face spf mentioned to their bigger version which looked identical but didn't have face written on the bottle. Anyway....the ingredients list for both was exactly the same! The one without the word face on it was double the size for £1.50 extra. Why do companies do this.

Could you please advise on the order in which I apply SPF's to my facial routine. I usually apply hyaluronic acid, then serums, then moisturizer and then sunscreen but so far I have been unsuccessful in getting my foundations to lay well without rolling off. I do wait 20-30 mins before applying foundation. What am I doing wrong???
