Technically bandit could theoretically reach the top, it would just require a ridiculous amount of setup and perfect aim to the point it wouldn't be worth it: Simply get enough enemies, lower their health, and you can shift R over and over again slowly gaining altitude with each use and consistently refreshing both cooldowns

Mercenary can rather easily reach the top. I do that often to skipe the pillars, just use the default secondary skill (the lil spinny move) and use it on the ramps leading to the huge torches at the base of Mithrix tower, the movement speed will send you flying right under the Mithrix boss fight room, the area with the rectangular pillars like in your loader test, then repeat on those ramps and use his other spells if needed.

You need to save your jump and time your skills to reset your fall velocity at the optimal times. It can take 3 rounds of using your dashes. Using the jump at the right time when everything else is on cooldown is the key. It's much easier with a single backup mag.

@@twofast you've probably seen the other comments, but rising thunder merc can very easily reach the top with spacing your abilities. You were even doing it and gaining in the clip, you just need to stall and carefully use rising thunder as a priority if it's off cooldown then wait to start falling 1-2s before each ability.

If you jump right before transport mode MUL-T can jump really far. Mercenary's alternate Shift ability has less cooldown, allowing infinite uptime. You can use Rex's shockwave as a double jump for much greater height, and tons of momentum if you use it just as he jumps. Diablo Strike deals 40,000% damage, not a flat 40,000. The greater your base damage, the more damage.

i was able to get mercenary using the whirlwind technique as well as the second utility. if you are looking from the tree from where you began, the torch directly to the right of the tree if done correctly will launch you in a specific slope which if you walk a bit will leave you in an invisable slope which you can use to launch again. after that its all about staggering your abilities to get to the main part of the tree where you can climb up the branches onto the side parts. using the jumping whirlwind you can actually climb slopes that have no footing allowing you to be just under the mithrix platform. afterwards you want to use that momentum in order to glide a bit out to the side of the platform and stagger your abilities out one more time to get merc in there without even using the uppercut.

Admittedly this was all under the single tactic. If you use mercenary’s standard right click (secondary), alternate utility (long single dash) and special You can make it up. The thing that is different is you need to right click on a slanted surface while grounded. Either where the escape ship is, or on the ramps around the tree will launch you very high up. From that point you can use the utility and special, with the occasional right click stalling in between to maintain altitude

Here’s some survivors that can make it to the top with items: Merc and acrid can easily do it with some movement speed, merc needs his default secondary and you can use it on a sloped surface to get lots of height. Acrid can use his leap upwards against the tree thing and he’ll bounce off it super high. Rex can do it with a hardlight afterburner. Just use all three charges in quick succession. Lastly, this was made before railgunner, but she can also make it with a hopoo feather or two. You need her alt special preferably, but I think either can work. Use her special, then place a mine and shoot downwards as it explodes. The momentum from the charged shot plus the mine launches you to the top of the tree. You can shoot down with your smart rounds to get a little extra boost (that’s why cryocharge is better, you don’t overheat and can shoot after). Do the same thing to get to the top of the arena, but use your extra jump(s) to get to the very top.

The bandit can actually get more jumps than he showed, his melee slash actually lets him go up just a tiny bit more, but more importantly it gives him a little less than a sec of stall time in the air without cancelling out momentum which actually matters quite a bit when used at the end of your smoke bomb jump as it allows the characters to reach places he would otherwise never be able to, mind you this can't get you up with no items but with a bit of cdr you can chain between the two to slowly climb your way up without touching the tree, and I have infact done this in a few runs when I didn't feel like dealing with the pillars

hey so one thing that I don't believe anyone has noticed is that you can easily time the time at the dome right at the beginning, the one you pass to charge later in the game after mithrix, if you time your shift and r you can easily make it up to mithrix if whirlwind at the dome at the start, then shift, then r and you've made it to the base of the fighting arena.

Mul-T can do it if you have Power Mode and two Nailguns, if you fire both nailguns and release them at the same time you'll be pushed in the reverse direction you're aiming. With proper timing you can do the while aiming down to just barely reach Mythrix before power mode ends. It's actually a really cool movement tech that has many uses, and helps you dodge attacks while in Power Mode.

While this is correct to an extent, these are not the only 3 that can do it. Mercenary, Railgunner, Void Fiend, and Acrid can all get up. Acrid is difficult to do it with, but with movement abilities it becomes much easier. Railgunner uses mines and primary fire, Void fiend uses his movement ability and the secondary blast. And mercenary can trimp. To be fair this was also made 2 years ago, so it’s now outdated.

It does deal 40k damage to cap as well, but the reason it didn't kill him in the video is one shot protection. The slashed lines at the end of your health bar indicate that you have one shot protection. In the video, cap uses the knockback to propel himself up without dying.

you instantly write off the bandit but he could actually make it no items if a flying chimera thing (dont know its actual name) spawns next to you every time you use the smoke bomb you can cancel the invisibility, gaining more height, and use the revolver that reduces cooldowns to instantly use the smoke bomb again assuming that not only there are enough targets for the revolver to hit and that you are able to constantly kill using the revolver, it is entirely possible for bandit to reach the top and also by that logic, mercenary probably can as well as his shift gets more charges when you hit an enemy

you can use tactical dive in the air though. If you're talking usage as a double jump, it still works that way, it's just harder to do.

Idk how much this would help the mercenary, but there's a glitch with him where if you use his whirlwind ability while walking up a sloped surface then you will go flying upwards. Idk if there's any ramped surfaces to use it on but I thought I'd let you know. The steeper the incline, the more height he will gain.

Acrid might be able to pull it off, I dunno. You can do some interesting stuff with cancelling his leaps by slamming into walls with them, and there are some launch angles that get him an immense amount of height. The hard part would be getting from the branches up to the top platform, but it might be doable?

As acrid I did it with headstompers and a feather, on the roots I was able to leap into the outer rim of the platform above the roots, and used my other leap to get up. I think this has potential

Mercenary can make it to the top by just spamming your secondary, alternate utility, and special. It takes awhile similiar to artificer but ive done it multiple times

Hold up merc can to, you have to use whirlwind + either dash(though focus dash is easier) use whirlwind to against a slanted surface for massive jump height

You don't just need Hopoo feathers to make every survivor able to reach the top, if you get goat hooves and a wax quail then you can reach it if you abuse how high velocity airborne characters interact with slopes in the game, the easiest slope to do it off off is the bubble shield around the escape ship, and you don't need as many goat hooves if you've got a H3AD-5T v2 as the item tends to make you just a tiny bit more floaty while in the air thus needing less speed to get the same result.

Loader can build up speed then launch off the shuttle bubble. Probably not all that consistent without backup mags though...

@Subhaste Mult can do it if you use nailgun and the alternate special. If you fire at the ground you just fly up in seconds.

You need a lot of attack speed for that, but is a viable strategy, i think 10 syringes or so is enought

A modder should take a look at the actual Meshing for the pillar up and see if there is a way to go up by using the weird invisible platforms

If you could hit enemies with bandit’s default special you could reset cool downs on smoke bomb. Might work, but it’d be really hard to test

There arent any enemies that you can kill quick enough with 0 items for that to work
