I admire your style & these videos. You may not have time to read this, but it could help someone. 20+ years I had the arms swing, big draw, controlled timing & hit it a ton. When my timing was on, I could play well & I played a lot. Controllable ball flight, swung to one side of the fairway, all good. The problem was I couldn't hit a fade or a straight ball when needed to save my life & if you can't, it can get you in trouble on some holes. But you dance with who you brought! However, the search for an on-demand fade/straight ball only when needed, led me to a massive swing change (2-3 yrs ago) & a move to a body swing. It's taken time (old dog/new trick), but I'm getting comfortable. You're right that when I rotate & swing into the ball it's EFFORTLESS, no hand manipulation, feels like no arms. If I get lazy & don't move my body, I push the ball a lot. Sometimes I revert & body rotate & swing with my arms, then the ball hooks badly, way left off the planet 😂😂😂😂. Not often, but I can't be lazy!! Was it worth it? Yes, but! I did a lot of mirror work, less range, more 100-yard full shots on grass in a field which translated well to the full swing. Very helpful. Body swing makes it effortless, easier to hit the ball, but I can't be lazy with the body the entire round. Feels like my short game, which was good before, has improved a lot. I love the new swing. But also really liked my old swing! Arm swing seems like less effort on the body, needs timing to be on, feels like my hands were a tiny more active & engaged like a few other sports. However, there were many times I thought why the heck did I even start this, now, not so much! I'm much better off with this change for me! I'd say, if I had a lot of time to play, then the arms swing could be less taxing. Playing a lot, helps with timing. However, if I played once a week or much less, the body swing could be the way to go, but it's more challenging physically IMHO. If one person found this helpful, then great. I agree with you Christina that both approaches can work as it depends on the individual. It's why this video is so awesome! Thanks as always, you're the best!

This video should be mandatory viewing for struggling golfers or those new to the game. More instructors we would better serve students, if they brought this approach.

Great video. I hate it when instructors swear by one style. At least I know now that I can use both. Finding more of the fade shape when I body rotate but it’s not sustainable given that I’m 6’4 and it just hurts after 6 holes. Arm swing is giving more of a draw shape which is so rewarding to witness.

Excellent! I’ve been trying to find that elusive cookie cutter answer for years. This analysis makes so much sense! I can now decide on the right swing for me and follow a meaningful path to improvement. Thank you!

Thank you, so much, clear. i've been doing both, and going nuts (why am I low, in, and still cutting?) haha I think I will go back to being Tom Watson because I love it. Thank you!! You really really helped me there.

Body rotation feel great but it make me get a lower back pain...it gets worsens until I only can hit dozens of ball in driving range... This week I tried arm rotation and I can hit 200 balls, which I think 80% of it using my driver without any problem

Thank you so much for stating both swing types work lol , I'm a little tired of hearing shallow the club , the slot lol look I get it no doubt. I totally understand watching and listening to teachers/ coaches talking about proper swings, but come on with the separation in lower half and upper half of the body in the start of down swing, I would bet that much more amerturs can't separate there lower body from there upper body in beginning of downswing, so please can some one come up with a proper easier swing for me a club golfer without injuries included while trying to learn these moves lol ,!! I've watched your channel many times and you always have options for every swing type, I feel much more Athletic swinging up right, I feel the flatter swing type is much more like a stack and tilt swing ,to mechanical for myself, idk Bla Bla Bla by me sorry, love hearing that all differnt swing types work depending on how comfortable and your feels are during your swing! Thank you again for not judging the club golfer!!

Christina, yet another killer video from you! Love it! Thank you. QUESTION: Is it fair to assume that most players with one-plane & lotsa body rotation are physically stronger/ super-fit? (your video examples are Dustin, Collin, Koepka & Arms/ two-planers are Bubba & Tom Watson). If so, For a young golfer (11-yrs old) whose body structure & muscles are still developing/ taking shape, how does one decide which type of swing is better & when? Where would you put Tiger Woods? 2nd Question: You correctly mentioned that Lots of Arms plus Lots of Body rotation is not a good match-up. How about some of both? If so, whats the right mix/ proportion for a young golfer? I believe thats where your in-person lessons would come-in :) , but still I would love to get your take on it, if possible. Thank you.

How do you get forward shaft lean with a more arms swing with less rotation?

Great video as many of yours are! Thank you for all of your work. I have been an arms swinger but would like to change to rotational. Yet on the course as opposed to the range, my swing seems to fall back to the old arms swing. How does one get rid of the old thoughts and swing habits?

Dear stunning golf instructor, I am ashamed. I have been unfaithful to both the arm swing and the body rotation swing. I go back and forth to both. When I use the arm swing I feel guilty for not using the body swing and vise versa. You have shown me the truth. I needed to make a decision. A commitment. End the guilt, the shame, the cheating. Today I played a full round with my first love from the 90’s……the arm swing. Usually, If I had a miss hit, I would revert back the the body swing…..then after a few holes…a missed shot…and I would run back the the arm swing. Not today beautiful instructor…….I stayed and did not cheat. My 1986 Staff blades were on fire with my full commitment freeing my emotions. I am a new man, fully committed, free in mind, body, and spirit. MDLT swing for the rest of my days. Manuel de la Torre I will keep your swing.

You dragged me in with the two plane. But you did not show the TRUE two plane. Which arcs around your swing center circle. Basically, look to Mike Austin fan club swing. Still the longest drive in the world. 1974. Wooden driver and a old ball. Senior PGA tourney. Love ya Christine
