I've owned both and if you value handling then get the Z1LE. If you want speed and comfort then the Z06 is better. Most people assumed my Z1LE was a riced out Camaro and few knew about the car. It's also more exclusive than the Z06 but the ride can be extremely firm and punishing. IMO the Z06 is less rare but gets far more attention and looks better.

Great assessment! We need to educate them that it is not just a Camaro with a big wing. GM did a horrible job advertising the car. It’s a monster of a car in the handling and chassis department. Great platform for a track car. However, if you know, you know! That’s what make the ZL1 1LE so cool. The C7 ZO6 will always be in my stable. I absolutely love it.

I have a 2023 convertible ZL1 and it is fun to drive. I have never driving a C7 Z06 but planned to order a C8 Z06 in a few months.

I sold both cars for personal reasons, and now have a C8 ZO6. I’m about 300 miles away from the 500 mile break-in mark, but the difference in quality is remarkable compared to the C7 and the ZL1. I do miss the manual, so take that into consideration. Also, the C8 ZO6 definitely doesn’t sound like an LT4 or any traditional V8 for that matter. Congrats on your future purchase.

I owned both 2015 C7 Z06 and 2018 ZL1 1LE, both in manual transmission. I now own a 2019 Final Edition C7 Z06 (still in manual ofc) but I still miss my 1LE ! The gears just feel way smoother, the ride quality is absolutely on top ! The only thing I could say that keeps me from going back is the Woaw factor : the C7 Z06 is such a good looking car ! It has that supercar stance. Whereas the ZL1 1LE is and will always be a Camaro... It reminds me when I had a GT4, it was awesome, but still not a 911 awesome ! I eventually got a 991.2 GT3 haha sold it in January for the C7 Z06 Final Edition tho ;) To sum up : I wish I had money for both but they are soooo expensive here in France (yes I am french, living in Paris)

Great write up! It is hard to let them go, because it will cost more to get them back. I’ve learned that lesson as well with my C5 ZO6 and C6 427 Convertible. Yes, I love rowing my own gears..nothing like it. 2019 is the end of the traditional layout of what a Corvette use to be. I personally like the C8, but really love the previous generations.

13:47 you don’t buy a Camaro to put tools and stuff in the back, but if that openings not big enough, you can flip down the rear seats and the opening is big

@@I-di-nt-do-nuff-in- Lol, I rented one before buying the ZL1 1LE, you can’t even put a suitcase in the trunk. I pulled a muscle trying to do so. Good to know about the trunk, sadly, I sold both cars when my Dad passed away. I have a C8 ZO6 now and yes that one is worse on storage space..lol!

Found a used shock yellow zl1 1le manual and hope for it to be delivered across country to me soon. You are absolutely right the zl1 1le are much more rare, I have had a c7 grand sport and z06 myself and can 100% say i've seen like 10x the amount of z06s. With gm stopping production of camaros and the 1le package not being made in the "collector edition" for 2024, I think the 1le will hold its value and maybe even go up in price as electric and automatic cars become produced more. The zl1 1le (and even c7 z06 manual), are going to be the last of a dying breed.

What’s strange is the powertrain is the same but different. Going from a six speed to a seven speed back to a six speed just kind of sums the uselessness of the seventh gear. I think it was more to get pass the fuel consumption tax for the Corvette. It is a hard choice between the two, but I love the Corvette slightly more. Can’t wait for your next video as well!

Good point! I do like the ambient lighting in the ZL1. The seats are better as well. However, the C7 ZO6 interior feels more of an upgrade in material.

@@I-di-nt-do-nuff-in- it’s not fragile, it just over goes into limp mode at certain temperatures and really running the car. I never had any issues with mine at all and I had fun with it. It only went into limp mode once. It was over 100 degrees outside and I will running the car.

I'm trying to decide between; ZL1 1LE C7 Z06 GT500 Porsche 911 Jaguar F Type R Watching like every video I can, every time I think I'm set on one, I switch!

Those are great choices! A new or slightly pre-owned ZL1 1Le will be a little difficult to find. Stay away from 17’s and 18’s due to oil pump failure. A C7Z is more plentiful! Offers more potential for the street. A GT500 is great out the box, but no go if you want a manual. No to F-type unless you are Jaguar fan. A Porsche is great until it is not..like after warranty expires and/or maintenance cost. I probably say a either a GT500 or a C7 ZO6. Next the 1LE, only because it’s hard to find one and they are less street-able more track focus. Then the Porsche and lastly the Jaguar.

@@thecarpergarage916 Thanks! There are quite a few ZL1 1LE's within driving distance of me. But come next year, who knows! Hesitant on the Z06 because I don't like either of the transmission options. Crazily enough, the easiest find car right now is the GT500. 15 of them within driving distance of me! Still have a while to wait, I'm scared to see how far prices climb in the meantime.

One will have a rotary dial shift knob and the other will have a option of a 6M or 10 speed auto. I like shifting gears. Nothing wrong with GT500, but it’s almost $20,000 more than the ZL1. Best bang for buck is the ZL1 and I like the GT500.
