This is about the audio but the edits are pretty cool! And the “camera guy” is the best sport! Really enjoyed! Thx for sharing with us.

During my live-streams sometimes I talk at a normal level but if I get passionate about a subject my voice raises quite a lot. Is there a certain mic (perhaps the overhead shotgun mic?) that would be best so I don’t blow out my listener’s ears? Or does the mic not matter for this and is instead fixed by some sort of audio controller in the software?

You can control that a couple ways (if you haven't noticed I do the same while live!) - the shotgun is helpful for that because it's not right against your mouth. Controls on your mixer/interface can be helpful. And also, if you choose a broadcast mic or handheld, you can learn better mic technique - as you get louder move away from the mic just far enough to be still heard at about the same level but not blow it out! Does that help?

A very good sound tool is the GoXLR (Windows only) or the Rødecaster Pro (Windows or Mac). These have a ton of options for sound handling built in. I.e. the so called Compressor, which allows you to cap the max volume of your voice or raise the volume to a certain amount. It basically levels the overall volume, so you can get really loud w/o blowing your viewers ears.

Iiiiii absolutely love this video. I’ve been asked to do music reviews preferably in video format so I guess I have to learn how to do the whole KZbin thing and this video on microphones is really eye-opening. I’m only going to be doing voice overs although I’m not sure how everything is going to go yet but I’ll figure it out. Definitely liked this video though.

Glad you've made one on this. Loved your perspective on it. I'm about to go live on Instagram, and imma just keep ma phone on ma tripod which comes with the ring light, or just at some stand and I have a lavelier microphone. But I guess we can't connect a lavalier mic to our phones when going live on Instagram right?

@@LiveStreamingPros Just one suggestion. Pls make a video on audio interfaces as well. Not just Rode, but even brands like Focusrite, Audient, Behringer etc.

Watching this gives me anxiety just thinking back to the time I dared doing a podcast outside due to lack of a venue, and using a condenser mic because it's all I had! Edit: Thank you for the great content.
@LiveStreamingPros3 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! Are you still using the condenser mic or have you added another mic to your set up? (And good for you doing the podcast with what you had at hand! 🎉🎉)
@merriammerkabah4083 жыл бұрын
@@LiveStreamingPros I no longer have the condenser mic or any mic for that matter. I came across your channel in search of knowledge to help me make a more informed decision before my next purchase.
