Could you please make a video for SPD vs volt protection device?
@YP-zs9wk5 ай бұрын
Very good presentation. I have installed the SPD for both L and N with 32A mcb. SPD installed after the consumer unit breaker so hopefully protecting everything after this point.

Sir please make a video about high voltage atex test for terminal block.

Thank you for your suggestion Deepak, we will surely plan something around that topic.

Hello sir, thanks for the good representation. What rating of SPD suits my load (premises/whole building with total loading of 30Kw)
@AxisElectrical17 күн бұрын
Hey, SPDs connected in parallel, aren't affected by circuit load. Their effectiveness depends on location and the equipment they protect.
@DaveSons17 күн бұрын
I have an electric oven which has a total rating of 28kw, but low voltage tends to disturbs us a lot. As a result, this voltage imbalance most times burn contactors. Would adding an SPD into the installation sort my problem out. If yes, then what size can be suitable. Thanks
@AxisElectrical17 күн бұрын
@@DaveSons Voltage imbalance or fluctuation should be addressed using a voltage stabilizer, sized according to your oven's 28kW load. An Type 2 SPD can protect against voltage spikes, but won't solve your low voltage issues.

Sir, please can I connect earth wire from SPD to the lightning arrester ground Earthing pit
@AxisElectrical5 ай бұрын
SPD earthing and equipment earthing should be common, and as per the standards all the Earth Pits should be interconnected to achieve Equipotentialisation.
@abhaypatel87224 ай бұрын
I saw some video where they saying to put earthing of SPD separate from earthing of rest of connection and earthing of lighting arrester also be different, is this correct , please explain

If we install SPD then won't it result in tripping of the upstream earth fault protective device?
@AxisElectrical5 ай бұрын
Hi Jagrat, Installing SPD won't result in that, but if SPD undergoes some fault like a short circuit or over current (steady-state faults) it can result in Protective device tripping (RCCB/MCB) so that SPD will be safe and not get burnt. If you want to avoid this risk, SPD needs to be installed prior to the protective device and an additional protective device like a Backup Fuse or MCB need to be installed for the protection of the SPD.

Thank you, great info.. Also important not to over size spd - e. g. a 1000v spd can not protect equipment with max. 300v input, rather use a 275v so it can protect from 275v spike upwards.
