One group I belong to, that you might have missed, is the Color Overthinker- someone who tries to outthink the algorithm that matches players by picking the team they think will lose. These are the ones who are traumatized by having to fight their own team too many times in Splatoon 1 and 2!

I'm the Color Guy, but most of all I go with my heart. Went Rock, Grub, and Water since they were all my favorite choices. Also a Pretty player too, I built all my other gear around the chunks I put in my splatfest tee so that I can play all my weapons with the right build and look amazing too.

I got really lucky with my tricolor battles. i only got 3, but i won 2 of them as fire. Plus both of us were able to grab an ultra signal each game. Other than that tho, it felt like every match I had against water I was losing. Like after halftime it seemed like everyone went ham, and the difficulty sky rocketed. IDK 1st splatfest and was really fun.

I was the f is for friends for the ENTIRE first half of the most recent splatfest. WHENEVER it was Love vs Love, EVERYBODY would be squid-bagging, partying, and even wasting specials and jumping off the edge at the end! It was so much fun and I REALLY hope we can again next splatfest as well. 😊

From what I can tell, my play style seems to count as a mix of mostly "The unlucky ones" with some "The try-hards". Besides that, it was "The newbie" during the Splatfest World Premiere as I had never played Splatoon prior to that point, and had only bought my Switch console a few weeks prior. I did start on Splatoon 3, with the exception of Splatoon 2 for a few weeks because my pre-ordered copy of S3 arrived a few weeks late but on time for the first post-launch Splatfest. When I did, I skipped right through the initial Splatcast (the one that was about the story mode) and went right into the multiplayer lobby to activate the online stuff, re-bought my S2 weapon choices in S3, and went in. So far, I'm almost complete with matching my Splatfest World Premiere settings in the released game, and have the outfit but the only thing I'm missing from then is the Splashtag background.

I "got" to be one of the unlucky ones for the chocolate Splatfest because I only won four of my battles in the first half, and I was so demotivated that I didn't play at all in the second half. The worst part is I let my grandpa pick my team because the Splatfest started on his birthday, and I don't have the heart to tell him we lost. Also, the time during the Pokemon Splatfest when my teammate disconnected in the last minute of a Tricolor. That was...fun.

3:41 ME! I literally think every detail so that I'm 100% unbiased regarding the idol, plus I love to defend my beliefs. And as you said I even make a pros and cons list if I'm in doubt of what to choose. Now, allow me to write the reasoning behind my choices, I could write about my splat 2 logics but that would make it too long. Splatfest 1: ROCK Reasoning: Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in this splatfest decided based on the idol, which is my case. Although I love Shiver, this octo wasn't the reason of my choice. The reasoning was that due to the fact that everyone on Twitter were saying "Big Man Sweep", I thought that team scissors would be the most popular. As we all know Rock beats scissors in rps, so I thought it was logical to pick the team which beats the most popular, so that made me team rock ^^. At the end Rock was the most popular, so my logic failed, however I'm happy we won! Team I also concidered: PAPER Reasoning: I love drawing, and although most of the time I use digital methods to illustrate, I also love drawing in PAPER. Maybe what made me not choose this team was the fact that this reasoning is outside the rps game, whereas my rock logic was about the game itself. Splatfest 2: GEAR Reasoning: A Pot in which I can boil water (I imagine a Pot counts as gear). Water is the most important element to survive, however, both sea and river water isn't pure and can harm you. To purify it, you need to boil it, so a pot is what I need. All this reasoning is thinking the island as a survival show, rather than actually being a castaway. I thought of this since the splatfest question was about "bringing", meaning you know u are going there. Team I also concidered: FUN Reasoning: Well, before thinking the splatfest as a survival show, I thought it was like a castaway situation, like unexpectedly being in a deserted island. If this was the situation, I would have chosen Fun. Why? Well, cause I wouldn't even try to survive because I would be extremly depressed and hopeless, so I would basically end my life myself before something else would. This idea of not even trying sounded like a team fun reasoning to me LMAO. Splatfest 3: GRASS Reasoning: My fav starters from each gen Gen 1: Bulbasaur ☘️ Gen 2: Chikorita ☘️ Gen 3: Mudkip 💧 Gen 4: Turtwig ☘️/ Pliplup 💧 Gen 5: Snivy ☘️/ Tepig 🔥 Gen 6: Fennekin 🔥 Gen 7: Poplio 💧 Gen 8: Sobble 💧 Gen 9: Fuecoco 🔥 ☘️: 4 🔥: 3 💧: 4 That was a tie, so I thought of non starter pokemons and I prefear more grass types rather than Water types, so that made my choice Team I also concidered: WATER In conclusion, I think every single detail of the splatfest and honestly that's what makes me love them. Imagining things I never do in my daily life is extremly entretaining. I truly belive that if everyone though like us, instead of choosing based on idols, ppl would enjoy splatfest much more. I really hope splatfest don't stop being monthly since it's one of my favourite things about the splatoon saga. I feel like ppl will call me 🤓 but that's fine lol. Anyways if anyone reads all this you are amazing and I hope you can share your reasoning with me

i don't think I'm any of these types but i know what I am. The Gear Ability Grinder: Basically a mix of the grinder and eager beavers but unlike the normal grinder it is just gear abilities and like the eager beavers they put on the shirt as soon as possible. These players love to spend their time of just grinding there splatfest tee to getting the gear abilities and get it scrubbed for a low price from Murch. they don't care if they win or lose they just want to fill in the gear's abilities and as soon as they filled it they will leave and go to Murch then go back and repeat over and over plus bonus points if they do it on their shoes and hat they will have many gear chunks after the splatfest is over and probably has the most ability chunks anyone can ask for. Idk but I'm basically this i just grind gear abilities.

Gambler for the conch shells, which also means the Grinder. Unlucky One, but not as much for the com error, but for cashing in 87 conch shells and not getting either the seasonal banner or the seasonal title, and only a single pack of tableturf cards. :( Tri-color Tri-hard because gold defender badge. Once I got that, I was unbothered for the rest of the fest (except for being spawn locked, that sucks all the time).

I’m an Eager Beaver, hands down…. With a bit of F is for Friends. Though in 2017’s Lemon vs No Lemon, I was definitely the Unlucky One. Popular team + American in a JP Splatfest (before 3.0) = Connection fails. Took me 14.75 hours to Queen out! 😢. And my Splatfest power was in the 1200s, so lots of losses. 😢
