While the PAC Man wall seems most efficient at STOPPING cars, it definitely isn’t the safest lol. I wonder what kind of tests could be performed to determine which wall leaves the driver most intact.

I assume multiple breakaway walls would be the best way, so with each layer the car will be slowed more and more, kind of like what they use to stop runaway 18wheelers.

The air is just for servo effect for driver's leg (clutch is air, too)- still use incompressible liquid in the lines to the calipers/drums/master/slave cylinders.

Pacman worked well here because it allowed the car's own suspension to handle some of the impact forces. If the curved wall was larger, it would be able to do the same, however, at the small size it is in the video, the suspension is hardly able to take over any of the force of the crash, and the majority it on the front end crumple zone.

There's a pretty nice wall to crash into up and down freeways all across the country, better known as The Cheese Grater. Thick strands of cable stretched between break away metal posts. Motorcyclists aren't impressed.

i have an idea for a wall design its a ramp that goes up increasingly higher and has Spikes to stop the car by tearing up the bottom of the car that way the Driver may have higher survivability the spikes can start smaller and gett biger to stop even faster cars whould Love to see a video about it . only problem i can think of is probably some explosion by tearing up the tank of the car too early another one i can think of is Pillons that are Stiff but still able to bent at some speed so you put multiple ones behind eatch other slowing down the car enough without killing the passangers by bruttaly full stopping.

I feel like the 'pac-man' wall was safest at that exact speed but later it just became more dangerous. In the drag race the dummy absolutely obliterated his face on the top wall through the windshield. I think the safest wall to crash into (for the driver and passengers) would be something like the pac man wall but sideways with a way more gradual narrowing. Essentially a long tunnel where the walls gradually get closer and closer together so the car starts grinding against the walls more and more until it stops instead of annihilating itself head-on. It would be so cool if you made a video with that idea.
