I'm currently running a UDM Pro and I'm really happy with it. Definitely one of the best investments I made for my home network!

Actually, the silver patch panel will work with any rack. I purchased two of them and installed them into my 42RU rack in my home office. They came with standard ears that were then screwed into the sides of the patch panels just like the other Ubiquity gear.

Yes, but they are still in early access, that's why he most likely did just miss them when he scrolled the shop.

Retired IT guy with over 40 years in the field. Running the UDM Pro and am very happy with it so far. Does everything I need it to and more. Not considering upgrading anytime soon unless the UDM Pro fails and would likely consider the new Pro Wall Console to eliminate the rack in the utility room.

I've been experimenting with a UDM-Pro-SE at a business I help out, and so far I quite like it. Coming from EdgeOS, I feel a little crippled, particularly on VPN stuff, but i think for most small businesses without their own IT Pros, it's a really good fit. I'm going to upgrade my home network to UDW-Pro when it comes available. The one issue I've hed (repeatedly) with Ubiquiti gear is failing power supplies. I can actually say that I've had more Edge Router power supplies fail than the total number of power supply failures across all the gear I've ever owned from all manufacturers combined... So, I'm definitely eager for redundant power supplies. Otherwise I'd just go with the base UDW.

We are currently using the Dream Wall, and for a home it is perfect. We started with a UDM-Pro, 2 years ago, moved to the UDM-SE last year and now the UDW. The form factor on the UDW is awesome. We are running 6 cameras, 3 phones and 5 assorted APs. For a business, I would definitely go with a UDM-P or SE, however, for the home, the UDW is your best option. It has enough ports so you do not need a switch with 12 of the 18 ports being PoE. We will be purchasing the UDW-Pro for our new home when it becomes available.

Would you recommend upgrading from a UDM Base to a dream wall?

@@edwarddolezal559 for a home or very small office, I believe this is the best option. The one piece I forgot to mention, ithe UDW has a built-in WiFi 6 thereby needling one less Access Point. They just increased the price from $799 to $999, however, I still believe the value is there.

Where are you storing all the footage from the 6 cameras? UDM only has 128GB internal and micro sd slot, don't you need several TBs?

Been running a dreamwall since first inception and the only reason I would go with the pro is the ups and the actual space for drives other than that the dreamwall ticks all the boxes. My network closet is exactly that, a network closet so even if it’s all a screen it doesn’t matter to me as I use my phone or pc for stats. My rack in my office is where the majority of work takes places and that is where the standard form factor is necessary.

As a UDM base user this worries me deeply, that it might be deep sixed, if i have the budget i would mind getting a dream wall pro, when it releases here but i can't help but feel a tad bit, stuffed over since i got my base unit in December last year, it just looks to me that im spending more money to replace something i just bought so recently that works.

I currently use the UDM SE along with an Enterprise 24 port PoE switch, three Access Point WiFi 6 Pro access points, and one Access Point WiFi 6 Mesh access point. I also have an UNVR Pro and four cameras (G4 Pro and three G4 Bullets). I will not be changing out my controller as I think I have the right one for my set up. I will be adding at least 4 more cameras and a G4 Pro doorbell as soon as they are in stock and I have the funds to purchase them. I am also thinking of adding another rack mounted switch as I am almost full on the ports for the SE and the PoE switch.

I think that the UniFi Dream Wall is a great option for non-enterprise offices and whose with limited space and want PoE built in. I do wish for them to become actual Enterprise grade, but they have bugs in some non beta firmware releases here and there and sometimes you just have to physically reboot their devices to fix an issue. The question I always ask is do you lose thousands of dollars per minute if you have to reboot the network? If the answer is yes then I'm requiring Fortinet or Cisco for that deployment. Otherwise UniFi *IF* you can get it.

@@ShinyTechThings oh where to start? IPsec site 2 site with foreign side behind dynamic IP-address (which is the standard in Europe, you pay extra, like double the price, for static IPs). VPN to Android (Google kicked L2TP out a while ago on all pixel phones). Configure OpenVPN for Site2Site VPN connections: no possibility to set parameters? What if I don't want to use SHA1? Why is it not possible to use openVPN for clients? What if I want to have different access rights per VPN user? For instance: IT can remote in and has access to different stuff than HR. The UDM pro only supports very specific and limited cases for vpn. Which sucks. I've still one customer on a UDM pro and I will kick that thing out as soon as possible and replace it with pfsense.

Love Unifi but hate the stocking levels. Kinda defeats the purpose of marketing when you can't deliver product. Dream Router has been out of stock for a month, Walls out of stock, etc etc etc Thanks for video, love the content just had it when you can't get the goods.

Currently using a UDM-Pro piped in to a 24port POE Enterprise switch for 2.5Gb eathernet. I wish they have an In-Wall with atleast one 2.5Gb passthrough. Still waiting on the Enterprise AP as well. I might be inclined to upgrade/update to the Dream Wall Pro just to open up some rack space. Though I am unsure... My ISP is about to drop 2.5Gb, 5Gb and 10Gb fiber to the home, if I plan to upgrade I would need a totally different router capible of handing that.

I was thinking about what they avoided more than what was shown. UXG got virtually no mention (but I accept it’s not a console in itself). UDM (non pro) wasn’t shown. And, whilst I know they want to promote their own cloud hosting service, they really should have made it clear that self hosting locally or 3rd party are also fully supported.
@JasperSchwinghammer
@JasperSchwinghammer 2 жыл бұрын
They don't want you to host it yourself. That's why they don't mention it. Pretty worried that they will kill the selfhosted option at some point in the near future.

@@JasperSchwinghammer The people at Hostifi might be worried by this. $99 per month is a little pricey but may be worth it by passing those costs on to clients.

Looks like the UDM base is on the way out, they strategically want every console sold to be capable of running the new applications.

I'm interested is Unifi but why can't they simply offer the option of a VM image as well as hardware? Shouldn't it be a management appliance solely rather that a switch, AP or NAS device? As an outsider, the design choices seem rather odd. Personally, I'd prefer any management type appliance to stay simple since it's role is so critical.

If all of the UDM Pro/Pro SE 1Gb ports didnt share bandwidth it would be the ultimate home router. Sucks that it doesn't have a full bandwidth switch.

UDMPro was a slap in the chops, largely empty case, small processors doing too much and missing what basics the SE version got. PoE on the ports FFS. I am not interested in any device with a battery in it from UBNT, last ones were epic fail (UCK Gen2's). As for "Consoles" here we go again with obscure naming crap. There are two "interfaces" new which is still broken and missing basics and the Legacy which is more powerful and detailed but now having features taken out. I already over having to keep switching. Now UBNT is pushing their could console, no flippin way. I will be keeping my "Console" onsite or the clients gear on my own server. Already seeing performance issues with UBNT console being it not in country. UBNT's claim to be enterprise is still smelling like a fresh turd and now with delays on hardware of 3-6+ months, other vendors getting a hold.
