Uhh, "name a team with one of the shallowest receiving rooms." I'm hearing reports that Fields is connecting with Pickens & that Darnell Washington can still run routes as well as he did in college. That's two. 2 years ago with Freiermouth that may have been something. Now though almost every other team has at _least_ 2 WRs better than this TE duo _and_ a high-end prospect of a rookie. I'm Fields' last True Believer & even *_I_** doubt* he can do that much with this thin a roster. Well, that's not my real worry. I don't trust Arthur Smith. & experience shows that Tomlin gets pushed around by his OCs. I don't know if that a him thing or ownership, but the end result is still the same. Smith is obstinate & to improve, one has to admit they have room to improve. Smith doesn't reflect. He just moves forward never changing his, well what my name is here. *And* he licks favorites among players & forces them into roles that don't suit them. We'll see how this all plays out.

@@michaelcaton8162 Definitely. I can't help thinking though that what Khan used to acquire Watkins & Jefferson could have been used to get *Stefon Diggs* for cheaper than him. & _that_ would have been great. But let's face it, on paper this roster has no chance & should be last in their division. Whatever magic Tomlin has is nullified by things like his OCs & his own inability to rule over them. They already dipped into their future draft to get Fields & I don't have the confidence that *either* Smith or Tomlin have the ability to assess QB talent.

@@michaelcaton8162 Not even. I simply don't lie to myself. I've coached, trained & also observed others who do the same. the _VAST majority of NFL coaches are_ mindless ego-maniacs. Josh McDaniels is the rule, not the exception. Why didn't the new Eagles coordinators come in & ask or study what worked so well the year before & build on it? Doing things Their Way is _WAY_ more important to them than winning. Why do new GMs get rid of QBs like Sam Howell for next to nothing? Especially when they _knew_ he was working with the plays As Called? Doesn't it make more sense to correct the problem than start from scratch? Here kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3uyYoOpqtV5lbc is the Only Reason the Steelers have a chance. When seen together with Caleb's highlights, Fields is obviously a slightly better rusher & scrambler, & _WAY more accurate _*_passer._* It's not even close. He zings low-flying missiles that land in the hands of his covered receivers too quickly for defenders to have any chance to make plays on them. Fields can do everything Caleb can, but not vice versa. If anything, Caleb is Justin Fields Lite. The _play-calling_ as well as roster worked against Fields. Play-calling is hard for most people to grasp but kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ3TkqyXZd2tY5Y is what Bears receivers did with passes that hit them in the hands. They *avoided* them. They fell down on the field, ran the wrong routes & in Darnell Mooney's case, swatted at them like they were a swarm of bees. NFL fans are impatient & seek to lay blame when their expectations aren't met. It's easier to blame One QB than an entire receiving corps &/or coaching staff. So when the Bears returned to calling plays that were *_known_** to produce* half as many points as the ones they called in weeks 8-10 of '22 & weeks 11 & 14-17 of '23 the fans just wanted to Keep Dumping On the Single Target that couldn't defend himself. I mean your Owen Coaches return to calling plays they *know fail.* Where do you go for help if you're Fieldfs? He actually did call them out publicly after week 7 of '22 which likely is what *caused* the Bears to switch to better play-calling. But it was as if the fans only resented Fields for proving them wrong by playing so well under just different plays. They said of the 29 or more point streak that "this just proves _he_ (Fields) can't win games." They blamed him for the lack of defense. He returns to his college form with Pickens _AND_ Aiyuk? They might take the division. _This_ division. Not a small thing.

Adonai had a good amount of playing time at UGA. He was one of our best WRs. He got the game winner in the natty and he got the game winner in the semis vs OSU. He only went to Texas because he has a daughter
