Toon lagoon should stay as is, especially ripsaw falls, even when the park opened these characters were out of date by a lot, I believe it was intentional to add comic strips from past times to give a feel of nostalgia and history with a little fun.

I don't think this narrative that Universal is itching to pull the trigger at around 20 years is necessarily correct. Universal closes rides because get old and inoperable. Then they get replaced because the cost of their operation is not worth the traction and money is brings back in. The rides that are past the "expiration date" are still there because they are working fine enough and have enough popularity. They even made a 1:1 reconstruction of Hulk because people like it so much, even though the old track needed to be taken down. They are also forced to replace because they don't have the room to keep expanding. If they had the space Disney does, I'm sure they wouldn't be permanently replacing quite so many attractions and instead just add more.

He stated in his last video that regional parks took after Uni and Disney and added 3D rides to their parks once Avatar (2009) proved to be a success, and referenced the SpongeBob Ride (2004) and Fly me to the moon (2008) as proof….

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Jurassic park was originally the main property at the Universal parks when it was added to IOA, and is arguably still in second place over two decades later. With them having their major seller (Harry Potter) be in all 3 parks I don't see why they don't give the same treatment to the Jurassic franchise. With room next to Epic Universe for a 4th park putting JP at that park and doing a complete overhaul at IOA and turning the current JP and JW mix land into a solo JW land seems like a great idea to me.

I doubt that's a good idea. JP merch sells more than JW stuff to this day. Always see people buy the JP stuff in the gift shop over the JW themed items. I think it would be better to turn the river adventure ride into a jeep ride reenacting the scene where the T-Rex is chasing it. The animatronics would last longer and would require less maintenance too due to no longer being in the water 24/7.

Jurassic World is not as timeless a vibe as Jurassic Park. Merch sales and the longevity of the love for the originals prove that. JW is already a fading star. Adding velocicoaster was fine, great ride, but the atmosphere of JW does not translate well for the entire land ie. Restaurants and gift shops and making people want to stay and hang out. They were quite depressing movies compared to JP.

Honestly, i think Supercharged is on its way out once the coaster opens in Hollywood. If i had to guess the plan, the existing ride gets a retheme and new entrance making it a Knight Bus ride for Diagon Alley, and we get either an F&F show where Fear Factor was or a coaster in and expansion of that plot of land

Disney might actually be OK extending the rights for the Simpsons. They likely get a cut of the merch sales and benefit from the cross promotion of the IP in a theme park without having to actually build and maintain a theme park land for it themselves. The only real problem with Springfield is the ride itself. I know they replaced the mechanical systems when they converted it from BTTF but those older type motion simulators are brutal. When the motion of the ride vehicle doesn't mesh well with the motion on the screen people get sick in a hurry.

But considering the impending deal ending by 2028, unfortunately I don’t think Universal will go through the efforts to renew the contract AND also redo the ride along with it, it would end up being pretty costly. I hate to say it because I love riding it when I go to universal studios Hollywood, but Simpsons very likely is out of here within the next 5 years.

ET needs HUMONGOUS changes and upgrades if it was to stay open. It already closed years ago in Hollywood and Japan. It’s time to go if they don’t plan a massive overhaul in show quality. But the one horrible attraction that needs to go is Fast and Furious. It’s garbage adapted from the tram ride in Hollywood, where it got poor reviews, yet they still replicated it in Florida.

Amazing video man! Never been to the Florida theme parks, I’m from California, that being said, I really appreciate your takes on all this because Ron planning a trip down over there for epic universe and all the current universal parks as well. One thing if I might add just for sakes of debate, personally I think they will 100 percent keep Jurassic river ride but do like what they did here in California. I’m a current annual pass holder for the park over here, my kids love it and wife does too, both park and the new rendition of the Jurassic park ride. If they do that to your guys side of town, it would draw so many people just due to the fact that each time I go there is a massive wait time for it. Thank god, you know, i’ve seen some absolutely crazy takes on this subject that have Universal knocking half the damn parks down before decades end. Their thought process is just boiled down to “Old IP bad, replace now” with zero regard for like- anything else? Like how popular or well liked the rides are, what niche in terms of attraction they fill, how long they would take to replace, how much capacity would be lost with a closure, and if it even makes sense in the context of the space and park they occupy. This is the first one of these type of videos where i was basically nodding along the whole time. I've been saying Pokemon would be perfect for a theme park land. You could do a photo safari with animatronics for the main attraction.l, something slow and appealing to all ages. You could do so many producttie-inss based on pokemon iconography, like pokemon plushies in plastic balls, potion sodas, repel colognes, and more available at the pokemart. Restaurants would probably draw from several games and regions for food ideas, and i think they should implement the nfc technology like they did with Mario to make the park more interactive. Sorry to drag on, but I've just been thinking about this for a WHILE, and im sure you can add to the pile of great tie-ins yourself.

Regarding the Marvel license, while it is in perpetuity, a contract can always be broken. Any correctly created contract will have a break clause, and if Disney decides one day that they'd rather pay the break clause, they could do so. There's also likely stipulations in the contract that Universal must abide to, or else they could lose the contract. Perpetuity only means that so long as Universe follows the rules of the contract, they never have to worry about it expiring. Edit: There was also leaks/rumors that after Disney's acquisition of Fox, and Disney seeking to use Marvel in their parks, an agreement was made that Universal can only use pre-MCU Marvel properties for their parks. With that in mind, Disney could always be lenient and approve any pre-MCU attractions in an attempt to retain the yearly licensing fees.

I believe that when Epic Universe opens, all theme parks (including Disney) will see a boost in attendance. But after Epic Universe has been open for 2-4 years, families will most visit the 4 Disney parks, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe because of limited vacation days. Because Universal Studios is so subpar compared to these other parks, Universal will then approve a huge overhaul of Universal Studios. This will put on hold the rumored Zelda land replacing The Lost Continent at Islands of Adventure and will most likely have multiple massive changes. This could include The Simsons turned into Pokémon, F&F Supercharged, Jimmy Fallon, and MIB. While just speculation, HW RipRide Rocket is probably about due for a retrack, so they might replace it as well. Anyway, if any of this actually happens, it won't be for 10-15 years from now until finished.

I rode spider man for the first time a few weeks ago, I had no idea what it was or what the experience was like, I was completely shocked and blown away by how much fun it was. I didn't know the video was integrated that well, I didn't know the effects were that well done, and I didn't know the movement of the cart was so punchy and fast. one of the best rides I've ever been on.

The funny thing with F&F: Supercharged is that it's gonna be closed temporarily sometime in August and remain closed throughout HHN. But, there's also rumors floating around that it may close down permanently. So will it reopen once HHN is over? Who knows.

The past few times I’ve gone to Universal, I’ve ridden the Hulk MANY times in a row, but got a massive headache after only riding Rip Ride Rockit ONCE. I think over the past year and a half or so it’s really surpassed the Hulk in roughness. Idk maybe I’m just used to that B&M rattle that the Hulk has but not the specific rattle that RRR has. I personally think it’s RRR’s time to go soon, especially since I doubt Maurer makes parts for cheap since it’s practically one of a kind for their company

Over here in Hollywood I think the retheme of Jurassic Park to Jurassic World has made a considerable difference. JP had about 15-20 minute wait in average days while JW has 30-60 minute waits on average. It’s reputation has also exceeded JP it’s become a fan favorite again since the update.

River Adventure is awesome, despite it's age. I'd be pretty disappointed if they replaced with a similar Jurassic World themed ride, especially because I'm not a fan of those movies. I disagree that it's condition is getting worse because they recently refurbished a bunch of stuff like the guns and most of the animatronics from what I've heard. I could actually tell that stuff was better the last time I rode it which was a couple months ago. I agree that it may be very difficult to get replacement parts but still, it's gone this far and stayed popular for this long so I don't see any reason for it to close for a very long time.

I have a theory for Universal Studios Florida expansion which might sound crazy at first, but hear me out. The footprint for Hollywood Rip Ride Rock it is extremely small but I also think a new rollercoaster in that area would be very limited. BUT if you put the rip ride Rockit and the concert stage together, you would have enough space for a new attraction. Imagine if New York got expanded across from Jimmy Fallon and the Secret Life of Pets ride from Hollywood gets built right across the street from Minion’s cafe. I think both the concert hall and rip ride rocket would provide the space. It would also help that whole area have a bit more flow to it. Now what about the concert hall I hear you say? After all that is extremely important for multiple annual events. I think they could build a new and improved hall right in the corner between Men in Black and fear factor. With enough space left over you could put a rollar coaster that would go over both sides of the hall to add to the whole park energy. This will be a massive change but I could see them go for it. 1. The new hall will be In the back of the park and help distribute the crowds. 2. Now all the concert crowds will have to pass practically EVERY store on their way out and that could increase revenue. 3. The parade path and concert area would no longer compete for space. 4. A Rollercoaster of significant size would draw in people towards the back of the park too. 5. They would have alot more space to make an exciting rollercoaster then using the already available space. 6. They don’t have to mess with the old blue men theater as that’s one of the best options for the Christmas and you could do holloween events as well. This would be extremely costing and take time, but I think it would help the park over all greatly.

Not really, they've only built one other coaster like HRRR in scale, that being Shock at MagicLand in Italy, and that was in 2011. The other ones, while similar, are on a MUCH smaller scale than either HRRR or Shock. Looking at their RCDB page the only things that they've built since 2014 are either Spike coasters or Spinning coasters with one SkyLoop and Dragon Legend, which is a launched X-Car model. The other 4 that don't fit this (Project Zero, Venus GP, Marble Madness and Wilde Maus) are relocations. At this point Mauer doesn't make coasters like that anymore. Looking at their website, they only show spinning coasters and Spike coasters, not anything like HRRR. If they still did, I suspect that at least one of them would have been built after 2014.

i just rode it the first time a few days ago on vacation, and I thought it was a very fun ride. the aspects of it being a game where you compete, and actually having the ability to send another car spinning makes it really fun by adding variety to every ride-through. I could see the Hollywood version of Springfield closing first because that's only one ride and its at a prime junction where you either go to the tram tour or lower lot-as well as being much smaller. After Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, they can easily close Simpson's Ride because the new coaster would more than make up for capacity in the meantime (although food and bev would be not so great, but hey do what they did when they did the Springfield facades to cover that) and have that ready for 2027, then close Simpson's in Orlando at the end of 2028, then Men in Black and possibly Animal Actors after that. Cat in the Hat and Jurrasic Park could be down in an in between time so it closes before Simpson's replacement (lets say Pokemon) is done, but opens before MIB/Fear Factor/Animal Actors replacement so there's a reason to bring guests to the resort before that, Zelda, and Luigi's Mansion (if that's what's after the Great Hall addition to Wizarding Paris)

My thought is Universal will be waiting until the right moment to either bulldoze through the backstage area of the NY land or F&F Supercharged and open up that large unused backstage area (that moved to Epic). They’ll build a tunnel underneath the Hogwarts Express that’ll hide it from our view and have us enter a whole new immersive land. This depends entirely on how much of that backstage area they’ll have to use, but it could be massive. And for those wondering about HHN and the soundstages, they could build brand new homes for those houses here or just tear down a few and keep what soundstages they need.

While I think Lost Continent and Fear Factor may be a spot to put another Nintendo property there with possibly Animal Actors and MIB could be the other spot where a new area could go. I can’t see universal removing MIB for some time, it’s often a walk on because it can move a large volume of riders, and it’s still a very fun, engaging ride for all ages. Let’s just say some things you’re right on about….Lost Continent is the only major focus in IOA after Epic Universe opens… Studios is going to get some serious work after Epic Universe opens. Like serious. Yes, Pokémon is replacing Simpsons, but Universal knows that Fast and Furious and Rip Ride Rockit are dumpster fires….and there are plans to replace and remove those attractions. I’m not so sure about Jimmy Fallon going anywhere anytime soon. Keep an eye on Animal Actors and Fear Factor as well.

I always liked the idea of it remaining Jurassic Park and UO would just keep the land updated and add new attractions. If they overhaul JP to JW, there will be no more Jurassic Parks :(. Let’s not forget, the original idea for this Jurassic Park land was that it was “Jurassic Park - Isla Adventura” because Hammond wanted to rebuild on a new island. So yeah, Velocicoaster is awesome, but it did divide the whole land. Breaking the Jurassic Park immersion. I legit just this past couple days had this video topic come to mind and wondered when ya would make a vid on it. Once again my gut foresense was right. Anyways I agree 100% with the predictions conclusion. With epic universe being planned for opening in 2025 my family will probably be going down there for vk like many others. During that time I hope to be able to go on the men in black ride cause for some reason I haven't done so. After I get my experience they can gut it. The attractions at Islands of Adventure are largely safe because the theming of the lands is so important to that park. The point is to enter a new world in each land, and so without a retheme of the entire land, there isn't much point in getting rid of a ride that would have to be replaced with something from the same theme. Kong is the one current exception, as it's just 1 ride and not a full land, but it's too new and too popular to be on the chopping block anytime soon, and it is much better than the Fast and Furious ride. Dueling Dragons is also an exceptional case, because the ride would still exist if not for the Harry Potter retheme, which it never fit into. It did not reach the end of its service life and was a popular ride with very high capacity. The only reasons to replace it were that it didn't mesh with the Harry Potter land and that people were too stubborn or dumb to empty their pockets. The OG park does not have this kind of theming except in Diagon Alley and to a lesser extent Springfield. Removing most rides only involves that one ride and said ride can be replaced with pretty much anything, making it much easier to do so. I'd like to see Rip Ride Rocket replaced with a mini B&M hyper like in the Japan park.

I'd make the argument that Infinity Falls over at Seaworld is a better raft ride than Popeye. You can sometimes dodge all but a few waterdrops on the former, but the elevator and slide at the end are great. Where as Popeye, there's no escaping the waterfalls.

Animal Actors has a very beautiful stonework stage. If I was in charge, I'd close the attraction but keep the stonework and waterfall for a cool new Legends of the Hidden Temple show.

I could see the men in black headquarters actually being built since they had the space to do that. And they’re already don’t through with the plans and closing fast and the furious because it’s not really fast and the furious. California has a fast and furious roller coaster, which makes more sense! If epic universe were to open, they should at least have that in their own park.

I think RRR may close pretty soon to make way for a 2nd F&F coaster in Orlando so I think both that & Supercharged might be gone very soon but who knows lol

If that's the case it'll be a bad addition, why? It'll likely be a launch coaster, and the USO resort already has enough of those and getting rid of the ONLY big coaster in the resort without a launch for one with a launch is honestly the dumbest thing that they could possibly do. However given how incompetent the resort has been in their coaster model selection since removing Dragon Challenge, I could see them being r****ded enough to think that removing the resort's only large non-launch coaster for a launch coaster would be a good idea. Starfall Racers and Velocicoaster aren't bad coasters (unlike Twisted Cyclone or Verbolten), they're bad coasters for the Universal Orlando Resort as they don't add anything new (Starfall Racers in particular).

Regarding Jurassic Park River Adventure... the reason they could retheme JP:TR into JW:TR, is because it was just the attraction. Jurassic Park River Adventure is in an area of the park called... JURASSIC PARK. The Whole LAND would have to go retheming if the headliner did. The Discovery Center (based on the original Visitor Center) would probably have to be redesigned to resemble the Innovation Center of JW, the Iconic Gate between Hogsmeade and JP would need a retheme to Jurassic World. The architecture would need to be more modern as opposed to the tropical safari aesthetic Is it possible? Yes it is, but is Universal willing to make the investment and essentially bottleneck the park since Islands of Adventure is a giant loop, you segment off Jurassic Park, the whole park is now a horseshoe and foot traffic in and out of the wizarding world would be a nightmare. So in the same vein as Popeye and Dudley Do-Right, removing the IPs would warrant a change to the whole land, and I don't think Universal is willing to take the hit there just yet. Maybe when Epic Universe is open, possibly. But the ride, either as JPRA or JWTR, it's not going anywhere.
