Which version of QuickBooks do you need? | Planning for 2024

So I like quickbooks self employed because they offer a free federal and state tax return. Does quickbooks essentials offer the same?

Hi! I know in another video you said you did not recommend the self-employed version. What about the self-employed Live Tax Bundle version? Does that one do true accounting? I am a general contractor and don't want to pay for the Plus version but I do need to track profitability for each project. What should I do? Thanks!

Any self-employed Quickbooks is not double entry accounting and does not provide a balance sheet. Though plus can be a bit more costly, not having access to the financial data you need is even more costly. I would consider it an investment in your business rather than an expense. The alternative is to track your profitability in a separate system or a spreadsheet and get a lower version of QBO, but obviously that requires more work and time to maintain. Hi Jamie, I have three “businesses”- 1. I am a 1099-gig working musician. 2. I have a new Airbnb listing that I make $ from being a host. 3.
