Out of these choices I would say streamyard. They’re a great live-streaming platform. I believe you can also integrate obs. I don’t live-stream very often though. Honestly KZbin is my favorite live streaming site lol. It just makes it easy.

Ok, the video was very informative. I'm unsure which platform to use. I still feel that Riverside is not as user-friendly as the other one. Does Riverside try to include too many features on its platform, making it hard to negotiate?

No, not at all, I'm debating about using them as my new provider right now. There isn't too many features, I think the whole niche market of these video platforms needs to be competitive and offer as many options as possible (without making the product unstable)

I was using Switcher studio but have since grown tired of it. I really only need something that will allow me to share videos such as FB, KZbin etc with remote guests who may or may not have a computer. What would you recommend?

Out of these options, streamyard is probably the best for streaming to multiple platforms at one time. You might also want to look into restream and evmux. Are you going to be streaming only, or are you looking to have a dedicated space where you can point people to like an offline download?

Well, it seems like any of these options will work well for you. You also might want to look into discord, obs studio, restream, and evmux. But if you're going to be livestreaming the recordings while recording them, out of these options, I would probably lean towards Streamyard. Hope this helps! When they say "record locally" does tham mean i need to ask my guest to send me their local recording so i can edit with my local recording?

Nope! When the recording is done uploading, there is a button to download directly from Zencastr. @2:24 you can see two bars at the bottom of the screen. That is where the download button shows up for wav, mp3, and mov for video. Riverside and streamyard both also have that functionality.

I personally only really ever do live streams on KZbin. But Restream from what I’ve seen let’s you livestream to a ton more places. If you’re trying to primarily live stream, it could be the best platform out there for you. My understanding is that it’s generally cheaper, too. But, I’m of the belief in tried and true methods, and generally in me experience, the larger and older platforms tend to have a better working, more refined product. What do you think?

It’s pretty pitiful. Even the paid options I’ve seen and used are so far from perfect, it’s not even worth paying for in my opinion. A LOT of these products feel rushed to market without getting the kinks out.

Trying to find the free Zencastr plan but I don't see it.

Zencastr has two free plans, the hobbyist plan which records in 720p, and the creator+ plan that records in 1080p with a Zencastr watermark. You should see them on the pricing page.

As of November 14, 2023, I believe Zencastr free plans are going away. In my opinion, their paid product is not complete enough to be worth the cost. I have had far too many problems where support can not resolve the issue. I am not recommending them any longer. Currently evaluating moving to riverside, streamyard, or restream.

I dont like the fact that riverside does not provide different layouts DURING the actual podcast. You cant change the views between you and your guest to make it more fun, appealing and keep it interesting. Even when you edit the video, you can only choose ONE layout. You cant change the layout in another other part of the clip for a different layout. That sucks. I even tried splicing the video and changing the layout and NOPE still stuck with the same layout. This is coming from someone who just changed from streamyard because of the high quality but I think im going back to 1080 because this has way to many restrictions and I hate people are not talking about it or telling people the truth.

Most of them require a desktop to function properly. Riverside is the only one that has a mobile app, I was impressed with it. At the moment, they all have their ups and downs, I don’t feel like there’s a clear standout winner yet

Good video but your audio-video sync is off. It’s worst at the top but I think it’s off by a frame even in the better parts. I’m having the same issues in OBS. I’m wondering if riverside’s local recording process fixes that.

All the free options seem to be 720p, but riverside includes a watermark where Zencastr doesn’t. Riverside’s ok, but I prefer Zencastr.

Riverside sucks. Ive recirded over 50 hours of content with guests every time yet the guests parts never sync or uplaod or are added to the finished video. Its like im talking to myself for an hour plus. Super lame. Waste of time and effort. Its really annoying actually. This is on the free version.
