(and remember that no one will be counting, just don't share it here) Work on your land, and build your Portugal base camp from scratch,, we will all love to watch that. Good advice, apart from the 'no-one will be counting ' part. That's not correct. This is why Immigration now stamp passports with dates of arrival/departure . Overstayers (even by 1 day) are punished with fines or extended bans on re-entering the country. It's not worth it imho

Whoa...3.400 a month is a huge salary here in Portugal, especially if you live your kind of life. I have a house here so I dont pay rent nor mortgage, but used to get by on 300 euro even with a small old car, on an isolated plot, where I did not even grow my own food. One can get by doing basic strimming work , mostly for foreigners on their holiday farms. They often dont speak the lingo and are happy for someone to look after their land when not there. I worked, like 1 week per month. (now have a pension) I moved in 2000 and never regretted one second of it. Looking forward to see your adventures back on your plot.

it sucks so much being outside of the eu! im in a similar position to yourself where there really ain't a suitable Visa. the other country that isn't to far away from Portugal is Andorra in between Spain and France, its in the Single market, but isn't in the Schengen area so you're able to stay there for three months though it is very small country. do you have any future vids for your van? im considering living in a similar life to yourself where live in a van here in the UK and then live in a tiny house in Spain until the change happens UK rejoins the single market which will take a long time or marriage to a eu citizen. Nice video again you bring a sense of calmness and peace very much needed in these days. May you and Barney have a blessed day :)

@@100Noddy yes I do believe you can get your passport stamped but you have to actually ask, for where I'm unsure but I seen a couple on the KZbin and it looked like passport control was off a main road, a quick Google search and I'm sure you'll find it

Hello. New to your channel. I used to live in Portugal before it joined the EU and those visas sound familiar. I used to know a family in the late 1960s/ early 1970s who used to hop over to Morocco in winter and return in the summer. He was a carpenter, she a fab cook. They had a small child and lived in a van he'd done out himself. I'd run out when they turned up and watch as he sawed and sanded and nailed and she made chapattis with butter. It was a magical time. I'm guessing they had such a visa back then. Good luck with it all Thinking now of moving back 'home'. Hope I bump into you one day... ❤

Hi Just seen your video as I'm forever looking at the Portugal visas videos. It's a nightmare as they seem to contradict themselves at times. I'm a self employed electrician in the UK and want to do the same in Portugal, I've run my own business for close to 20 years through the various financial disasters forced upon us but even this is sketchy for the Portuguese powers that be. I wish you every success but once you've decided on the visa you then have to try and get a UK appointment via VFS Global which in the last 2 months I've only seen perhaps 5 appointment times. They recommend logging in every 2 hours to check. 🤯 Good luck with everything.

HI - Love the vids. As a health professional this has helped me go from UK to New Zealand and now in Australia. Surely with a dietetics degree that should give you a way in. We are planning on possibly Portugal in a couple of years. Use the qualifications you have that applies to a relevant visa. Can you get sponsorship for example? Get a short term contract and tick the boxes that way. Gosh this sounds very black and white coming from me, it's not meant to be - just a few suggestions from someone who has country hopped. When you do go just be ware I've seen loads of accidents on those roads. Don't mean to scare you. IT'S usually due to tiredness and distraction. Hi Lucy, you do not need a visa to visit Portugal. Because this country is in the Schengen Area you can stay for 90 days in each 180 day period. It starts from the very first time you have recently arrived in Portugal since Brexit. So to work it out, take the first date you arrived in Portugal and add on 180 days. In this period you can only stay 90 days. Once that 180 days has passed from your first entry, then for the next 180 days you can stay for 90 days. So basically everything revolves around your very first date of entry as this date is very important. Stay longer than 90 days in each 180 days, then you will be fined and you cannot return.

Can't advise you re the Visa issues - but guess you're just gonna have to deal with it, as giving up British Citizenship is totally the last resort. Having said that, you'll be fine in Portugal for 3 months during the worst of UK wintertime. Good luck to you girl, keep safe.

90 days in and 90 days out, is what I am going for. If I was a bit younger I would have moved to Ireland, UK residents can live and work in Ireland, after 5 years you can apply to be a citizen which will allow an Irish and EU passport.

Hi, do you have an irish parent or grandparent? If so, you can apply for your Irish passport. Takes 2 years, start to finish, but worth it. Im applying for mine, bought a house in Spain and may one day live there. Brexit has been a disaster to all those wanting to move to the EU and made it either much harder or not possible. Sadly not all of us voted for it, and now stuck with it.

The whole visa thing is deliberately tricky, I've been looking into it myself. At the end of the day, we need to end up with a Portuguese passport so we can stay there without any problems. Brexit has made us prisoners on our own island without fixing the border. We'll done politicians. Don't give up, keep working on it, and you crack it in the end.
