Excellent video! I have a hatchback. Was firing a Skar DDX-15 in a ported 15SQV Atrend pre-fab box in the "up" position. Think I'm going to fire it towards the rear now...

Thankyou man! Definitely towards the rear will help you gain ! Thanks for watching man let me know how it sounds

U can try firing towards a corner ive seen many competitors do that

Yes ! I was thinking of listing those but in normal applications it’s not very practical - but yes gains can be made ! Especially for trunk builds

How about 12" ported box in crew cab 2018 f150?
@ftlaud911 Жыл бұрын
Great video. Good to see official numbers. I tried this test (listening only) with seats down/up in a trunk (2×12) in up, front, rear positions. Rear facing had significantly deeper bass, but front was louder/punchy just not as deep. Results got closer with seats up, but still the same result. Be aware your trunk will vibrant way more in rear facing since sound waves are bouncing off the back. Rear plate rattled way more. Some thin door weatherstrip foam all around fixed it, but trunk still flexed/rattled elsewhere.

This is cool. but not many people have a hatch back with bass bouncing o the back glass.

Ive been switching my setup around for the pass year 😂. My dual ported qbomb box with 12s gothics at 2ohm is closer to the trunk door probably 2 inches from trunk door. Right behind seat seal single box with 12 gotchic at 2 ohm facing front sounded way better than the qbomb box facing front or up right behind seat. Qbomb has a power acoustik 2500x1 and the other at 2ohms by itself. Sound nice af for a budget build. Got 5 if them now just taking my time on my first blowthru build 😊

Great video!@ Hopefully you can help me, i have a SUV im about to install 2 12" sundowns, the main point of the stereo is for playing out camping and not so much in the vehicle, in your opinion what would be the best placement for the sub for that situation. The box is 2 12" subs pointing up and a L vent port on the side, but can position the box also so the subs are pointing straight and the port facing up?
@LivinLoudwithAndy Жыл бұрын
Hmm good question If you are keeping the trunk shut when camping I would fire up or back If you are opening it all up then maybe firing in might give a better overall sound for casual listening by the fire 🔥👊🏼

@@charlescox4213 How much pressure is on the hatchback? Does it rattle a lot?

I know this is more box design then just simple orientation but thought the question fit better here then elsewhere. I noticed that Cookie Monster has the sub up/port back. Is this configuration typically louder in small hatchbacks or more just a way of working around size constraints?
@LivinLoudwithAndy11 ай бұрын
Sub up port back works for a lot of hatch /Suv styles With other enclosures I actually gained some sub firing back - port to the side Kinda all depends where the meter is and loads of other factors But yes for Cookie Monster - kinda stuck with what space ya have and it worked in a smaller application so I amplified it 😂🤘🏼 Sorry for the 7 month later response lol

I have the dual comp r 12s on my backseat of my truck facing directly toward me but they don’t sound all that good I can hear them distorting facing that way. Can’t face them backwards so only other option I have is to upfire them. So should I do that or get a down firing box for under my seats what do you recommend?

My 2, 10" Kicker SoloBerics will pop my trunk on my Altima every now and then. To the point where my latch is now worn and I come out some days to my trunk open 😂. Even with the entire trunk lined 2 deep with sound deadening material it still can pop my trunk.

I have a serious serious question I'm new to this I have a F150 and recently got a dual 12 down fire box and I hate the outside rattling at the bottom of my truck. I can return them by Friday and I wanted to look at 4x8 front firing box will take this rattle away Please help and don't judge man! I'm a newbie
@thedronezone7181 Жыл бұрын
Make sure it’s not the box that is rattling also the subwoofer isn’t rubbing if nether of those are bad then look in the truck for things that might be rattling in the area and try to sound proof/ tighten it up
