I'll take the pinarello...and thank you very much you are so generous ;) It'll change from my good old road bike 😁

Sell 'em and get a Hyabusa lol. For real though, I'd keep 'em BOTH, no brainer.

Hard to say. Sizing differences is the biggest stand out factor and what I'd base on which one to keep. I'd go with whichever one fits you better at the end of the day since you are looking to use it primarily to train (assuming in terms on a bike fitness) hence why the sell. But then again, I'm not sure how the two companies sizing compares and what you have on in terms of stem and handlebar length. The other thing that stands out to me is 6.5K for a 105 groupset is insane, even if it is Di2. It might be offset by the lightweight wheels and being at 6.8 kg but still odd choice going with 105 and not at least Ultergra. So I'd say sell the Madone, yes it is prettier but I think you'll be able to get a better sell out of it even though it is 3.5K more expensive and transition to the smaller size frame since that will help you be more aerodynamic. Also, what's up with that Ebay account? Is Blade Barn your primary business?

bikes have identical fitments, i got the pinarello and built it to mirror my old trek fit. the pinarello is so much more comfortable in terms of compliance which would be great for exploring and longer rides overseas with lots of climbing. that said i do prefer the trek in fast flat riding which is all ive done in the states. anyways, decided to go crazy and got a big $ crankset and new bb for the trek on the way... going for 6.5kg with it. have over 16k into it now so im just gonna keep it and move the pinarello along.

@@HeyWattsUpCycling Good luck! If that 16K is the full build price of the Madone, you would have a way better margin on selling the F5 over the Madone from a price perspective vs. what else is on the market (Like Project One Custom Madones). Unless you somehow dropped 6K into the build that isn't being included like the power meter pedals which I doubt it. Whereas the F5 has been recently built so you know what to ask for it.

yeah thats total money spent as it sits ready to ride. I try to never get stuck in the "sunk cost fallacy" the trek I would choose for sure riding all flats on smooth tarmac but lots of climbs and unknown pavement/winds and a "1 bike do it all" configuration the f5 as I have it built is hard to argue with @@Xhadp

Neither is replacing my 1984 Colnago Mexico. I could sell them for a used car though?

Worlds lightest bikes or worlds worst-calibrated scale? Can you show how you weigh them with a proper scale? Your weights seem off, but i am would happily be proved wrong! Keep it up tho!
@HeyWattsUpCycling10 ай бұрын
just ordered a big $ & light weight crankset & bb for the madone, hoping landing in a week from overseas. Going for 6.5kg with it, will show on scales for that video coming up. Looks like im keeping the madone for now.

Both ridiculous bikes. If its really a coin toss my choice would be the one that gets you more excited to ride visually. For me, that would be the Trek...

thanks, yeah thats kind of how I feel, that and I put like 16k km on my other one last yr so im really used to the platform..

Pinarello, the Madone is just so damn ugly tbh. I think road bike design should roughly follow function, and the notorious aero hole does literally nothing besides looking extremely pretentious, the ultimate dentist bike. The F5 is very nice though
@HeyWattsUpCycling10 ай бұрын
lol. the SLR definitely has that 'aventador roadster" kind of vibe to it where the F5 is like a Carrera 911.
@KurtGoedel-dl8zc10 ай бұрын
True, that's a very apt comparison. Love the 911 series@@HeyWattsUpCycling

@HeyWattsUpCycling I disagree, a Lambo stands out far more than a Porsche. Just like a Pinarello is more like Lambo with the wavy/curvy design, and the Trek is a little more mundane.
