Thank you for taking the time to review this. In case you have time, what system would you recommend that monitors the exterior of the house without sending an alarm to the user or anywhere else, but allows to record video triggered by motion detector and that could be reviewed over a period of a few days. For example I could review videos once a week and delete them to free up space. Is there an option that doesn’t need wifi and is battery operated? I’d like to install one in the corner of a screened enclosure and wifi may not reach there? For the ones with SD cards - would I need to get on a ladder and take out the SD card? Or is the recording transmitted to a device that has the SD card? Thank you!

I think for what you are looking for the Wyze Outdoor camera V2 might work: amzn.to/3Q0ks1j. This camera has an sd slot can be accessed via the app when moved into wifi range but has something called travel mode which will let it record while not connected to wifi.

@@Wanderer001_Reviews Thank you so much!!! I ordered a Wyze v3 to try using indoor, attached to a window looking outside, using the window attachment. I thought in this way I have easier access to it and I don’t need to install it very high, out of easy reach of a burglar. I am not sure if it has the same function as you explained, but I could also order a v2 and use them to complement each other, looking at different angles. 🙏

@@maple8859 The Outdoor camera v2, is very different then the indoor camera v3. The outdoor camera is the only camera that Wyze offers right now with the "travel mod" option. The indoor v3 will need to be connected to wifi to work correctly. I do have a v3 pointed outside into my yard though a window and it does work well enough for what I need it to do. Helps me keep an eye on things while I am out.

Hello, do you have any idea why when rewinding or fast forwarding on “view playback” you are not able to see any video movement until you stop rewinding or fast forwarding?

Yes that is correct Wyze cam v3 is the last camera to support Cam Plus Lite.

You can as long as you have an SD card in the camera. They also only work over WiFi.

Yes you would need a subscription for each camera. There might be some fathers day sales for more then one subscription.

Yes but to do so you need to create a group first of the cameras you want.

It could be the settings on the camera itself. Do you have it detecting all motion are just types of motion?

@@larrysheran When looking back overy your videos do you have any filters turned on? Pet, person, etc.? This would cut down on the videos that are shown to you even with a cam plus subscription.

Check out camplus v3 which now allows me to live view on my ACER laptop, for which I use a large screen tv as my monitor. No lag, has sound. Not sure what all is featured as the live and sound are all I want. You have to have camplus installed ($14 per year). I have two tvs to view, one tv shows (fire tv), the other as computer monitor which stays on to view security cams.

Wyze Cam Plus QUESTIONABLE billing practices…. Long term Wyze user I recently took them up on their offer to pay for Wyze cam unlimited for the year at a discount. (I was currently on a monthly subscription) SIlly me, I thought they would transition my account to annual billing. NO, they charged me for both, monthly AND what I had paid for annual. It took me a while to pick up on it. My personal opinion is that’s BS. So I guess if you change your car insurance, utility plan, or whatever, you should make sure you cancel what you used to be on????? Never ran into that. I will be transitioning to RING on a gradual basis…my kids have it, they don't play games and basically try to steal your money.

This is for any camera that does not already have a subscription. You can opt to do nothing but you will then only be able to save clips to the SD card a will no longer have person detection. If you want these options for the cameras you don't have subscriptions for already you will need to pick the cam plus lite plan which is name your own price for those options. Even if that price is zero.

I cant make heads or tails of this BS. I paid for a subscription for 2 cams so I wasnt tied to 12 second clips with a 5 minute cool down and now I dont know what the hell im supposed to do to just keep the service like that

I will never buy any more of there products. Going from free for some time to charging a subscription is just deceitful. I don't care if it is .50 cents a month! It is the point! They got me with the bait and switch, ..... "Here use this camera, buy the cards... oh sorry, we cannot let you operate it like you used to unless our use our subscription....." I will use it as is, and then it goes in the trash!

I get that. It is part of the reason I have started to look into eufy products. They offer free person detection and sd card storage for free.

You can still use the service without the subscription with the SD cards. No company can offer cloud based storage without collecting a fee to cover their costs.

It is very dependent on what each person needs out of your cameras. If you only want person detection and cloud storage litite is fine. If you have a doorbell you need plus. Trying to do home monitoring then pro.
