Ah, the beauty of living alone! No one ruining your finances, breaking your heart, costing you your home, or telling you what to do, treating you like a servant, or making a mess. Dress, plant a garden, watch the birds, visit friends, listen to music, watch TV, spend or save, and cook and decorate your way. Nothing wrong with that at all! Elise rocks! 🌸

@@hopedash5372 True. But that's why you have hobbies, read, a career instead of a job, play the piano, keep a clean home and car, manage you finances and have money in savings. You're too busy making you and YOUR life the best it can be. Instead of the fantasyland of moving in with Mr. Wonderful. If you've proven to yourself that you're an adult, and want a guy, fine. But he lives in his own place. He doesn't move in-ever. You don't cook, clean, or give him money. Hide your bank statements. If you're bored or lonely, learn Portuguese cooking. Study Egyptology. Join a chorus, book club, take an art class. Then...if you meet a guy, date him through AT LEAST 4 seasons. Then, you'll know how he'll act in any situation. Observing his family doesn't hurt, either Good luck! 🌸

It’s not a big thing in the scope of life, but I really appreciate that when you’re talking into the camera, you look directly at the little lens hole and not at the picture of yourself on the phone screen! Content creators are always looking at THEMSELVES when filming, which causes the eyes to be looking off to the side and never directly at the watcher! It annoys the bejeezus out of me! So thank you for looking directly at ME when you’re talking (or directly into the camera)! Little things like that show your professionalism! Thank you!

A store in the city center comes with high rent and you would be stuck there 12 hours a day. My friend closed hers as she was making more in online sales so just kept doing that. They kept raising the rent in her commercial space and she moved all of her stuff to a one bedroom apartment (that she doesn't live in) which was half the price and she keeps her stock in the living room and her office in the bedroom. Think outside of the box Elise.
@penelopesparrow9 ай бұрын
Similar to me; I could never afford a shop in my area (even though it's only a small country town) so when I rented a house I got a big 3 bedroom place - more space than I need, but the extra money was cheaper than renting a shop! I have a whole room just for photography and a whole room for inventory and shipping.
@robinhoward42049 ай бұрын
Yes, looking at those empty (but still appealing) spaces is worrisome and makes me think that the rent could be rather high. I've seen a lass with an interior design business rent a lovely one bedroom apartment as her office/showroom. It has all the amenities she needs - Elise could work magic with the same and possibly be able to put her stamp on it with cosmetic enhancements.

@lilkirsche9 ай бұрын
But also landlords. The rents are outages and only big chains can afford them now. They destroyed the Charme, charateristic and individual feeling of going shopping. That is why people do more online shopping now. Everytime I go to the city I am disgusted by the generic products. I want indivual pieces not that cheap crap they sell everywhere. And we mostly, do get that online now like in Elise's shop. Greedy people are actually the main reason.

I am also sick of winter here in North Germany. Denmark is 100kms away from us. I have so many craft projects that have been sitting around waiting for me to finish them outside like painting. Last year I was studying until Nov and didn't get to do much at home. The sun was out today which we haven't seen much of for half a year during winter. I went outside to start painting, and sanding and nearly froze from the ice cold wind despite the sun shining today. I was born in South Africa, the weather is the best. But here in Germany it gets very depressing being stuck inside feeling like the Michelin man all dressed up to go to the supermarket. I hate winter. Please spring and summer come. 🙏🙏🌷🌸💐🌺🌻 You are not alone Elize in wishing winter was over. Your videos are always nice to watch no matter what you do. I think the rents are too high in town. The shop owners have to make the up rheir lroducts so high to pay the rent, and all the costs before even making a profit. The landlords are greedy plus they want at least a 10 % annual increase in rent. The smaller mom and pop businesses hit the ground during covid and closed their doors forever. Everything has gone up in price but the salaries don't get increased accordingly. People have less disposable income so they don't buy expensive things anymore. For exampke we have a craft shop in Rendsburg. The shop closed and changed hands and moved a few shops down. The prices are so high it is outrageous. I paid 50 cents for one jump ring to fix a necklace. You can buy a whole packet online. The people rack up their prices to cover rent. Needless to say as nice as the shop owners are, and how much I like their products, I cannot shop there. Of course all the nicest shops in a high street cost a fortune. And if you want traffic and sales in your shop, you need to be where lots of people are. Be careful not to sign a lease agreement that locks you down for 3 years. And if business is bad, you will get into trouble. Yrust me, I made that mistake. I even ran a small clothing boutique from home to save on rent, and even that didn't work. The bond house repayments were too high. If whatever is working best for you now works, think carefully before increasing costs which might have a negative impact on you. You have a lively house to keep. A boutique shop that works for yoyr stock and shoots, and you have your webshop. Landlords are way too greedy. They would rather let their shops sit vacant on a high street and wait for some sucker come along to pay the exorbitant rents. If they lower the rents, they will set a president. And most probably they get a tax break. And even in a high street, you could sit in your shop all day stuck waiting for customers. And maybe not many customers come in to buy. You have to work out your total costs, and how many sales you were need to make every single day to cover everything and make a fair profit. What happens durung peaks and troughs during the year and in winter, school holudays, Xmas, etc. I have been in sales all my life working for corporate companies as a Sales General Manager. In order to have any business you need new business, repeat business, and you have to look after your existing business. How do you do that selling vintage clothes? You need a huge group of people shopping at your shop every single day, whereas online, you can reach the world. I'm sure you will make the right descisions. Lets wish spring here soon so that we can enjoy the sunshine again. Take care everyone. 💐🌺💖❤️☀️

Elise, I loved following you around and seeing the city. I also hate seeing empty shops but that could be due to out of town landlords charging extortionate rents. Personally I would rather go to a physical shop that offers old fashioned good customer service. I loved the garden diary too and it is interesting watching the garden wake up. A tip for your bananas to stop them going brown so quickly - wrap some foil around the stem ends. The ceramic art was great and your brother's mug reminded me of a Monet painting. Thank you Elise. So enjoyed it. Poetic, especially the garden part and the end. Perfect for Pisces time, as the garden awakens and so do we. Also, I really smiled when I saw the "Soul of the Rose" painting on your wall. It reminded me of a very special trip I made, when I was 40. I had just gotten divorced, my beloved father had passed away, and I had moved cities, as a single mom. I had never really traveled on my own. So, for my fortieth birthday, I gifted myself a trip to Spain (from the USA). It was my "getting some more courage" trip. The first of several in these last twenty years. Anyway, there in Madrid, outside a museum, I came upon the poster, fell in love with it (she reminded me of me with red hair "smelling the roses"), and bought it. When I returned home, I had it beautifully framed (the gorgeous gold frame cost way more than the poster) and had it for many years on my wall. Years later, a friend of mine here in the Netherlands took a photo of me in a nearby garden. When she sent it to me, it looked just like the framed poster I had had from years gone by. I'd share the photo here, but I realize on youtube, you cannot do that. Anyway, you are a treasure. Enjoy the blossoming of Spring and all the beauty, serenity and growth it has to offer. Just like you. :)

At the beginning of this video, when you had on the red dress with neckline cutouts, it reminded me of one I designed in college( Chicago). My instructor didn’t see my vision and asked how would I face the cutouts. Ha, now we see that design in many dresses and tops.

Every corner in Elise house is a beauty itself, this secret that you have for spreading vintage vibes touch me so deeply and let me return to the old days like i am watching a lady in her 30's. If some day i publish a magasine, you will be the first to connect because the old souls that you have is beyond imagination.
