My name is Megan. My channel is all about paint pouring and art therapy. I learned to paint pour in 2014 after my second stroke. I had left sided paralysis. A physical therapist suggested checking out art as a therapy after the stroke.
I soon found paint pouring and fell in love. I am self taught and was able to teach my left side how to work again by tilting the canvas back and forth.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm going to be trying pouring medium for the first time & I already have a bunch of apple barrel paint so thought I'd try theirs first since it was cheap. If I like this form of art I'll probably try a better brand at some point. I also plan to do it over a silicone tray mold I have so any interesting drips can be collected after drying & hopefully used to make little earrings or something by using uv resin to attache it. That way there isn't as much waste or at least I can tell my instincts to be cheaper to back off.

Have you tried mixing Apple Barrel pouring medium with other brands of paint? If so was it successful?

Yes I have mixed them with Folk Art, Master's Touch and Cheep Paints with great results. I have now been experimenting with adding Floetrol and Apple Barrel Pouring medium together with amazing results, video coming soon on that.

Thank you for the video! One question I have is about the tile you used. Could you tell us what type of tile that was please? Was it already a sealed tile or did you have to do any prep work on that tile for your pour?

I just bought the apple barrel and tried it, very thin but nice cells

I have bought it twice now. Loved it both times. But it was strange, the second bottle was a bit thinner. But yes great cells. I have been enjoying mixing it with my Floetrol.

Cyd. Have never done a pour painting but I am definitely going to. I got the Apple barrel medium because it I haven't found floetrol where I live. I haven't even thought to look at Home Depot. Don't get the drop of silicone. Going to try a drop of hemp oil.

Any help anybody can give me would be great. I actually paint and draw and I thought this was phony bologna painting. But I saw some beautiful artwork

The silicone helps the cells(round bubble like spots) develop. Hemp oil may work. Have not tried that. Let me know if you try it and how it works. You can use lots of household stuff, wd40 with silicone, hair oils with dimethicone, personal lubricants and much more. I prefer treadmill oil that I purchased off Amazon. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Great video and review! I've been using Artist Loft Pre Mixed Ready to Pour paint. My wife got Apple Barrel Pouring Medium (½ gallon) and a bunch of Apple Barrel paints for me to try. So will the cells pop up if you don't add silicone to it ? I know Floetrol makes the cells pop. Thanks 😊

I haven't gotten too many cells without the silocone. But I have been experimenting with adding a little floetrol to the Apple barrel pouring medium. The mixture of the two pouring mediums create some cells and lacing. Video coming soon on my mixture for that. Please let me know if you have any questions.
