It’s not that both parties are corrupt, or in on some grand scheme to keep regular people down. It’s more so that both parties are just made up of regular people, and people on average are out to help themselves first ( and rightly so ). Given this objective reality, it is natural to come to the conclusion that both parties are just as bad as each other, just in different ways. Labour is fixated on inclusivity, acceptance, looking virtuous, shaming white people, etc, while blaming liberals for everything. Liberals are fixated on immigration, crime, “woke” people, and blaming labour for everything. Then they get together at the expense of the taxpayer to stand in a room and scream at other, filling the air with baseless recriminations towards each other over issue neither side combined could fix. Likely not some grand conspiracy behind it all. Just people’s observations about how the actions of politicians on both sides are perceived

My labor member for federal parliament actually listens to me. And when I raise concerns over labor decisions actually goes away and gets me the scientific, peer reviewed papers Labor made their decisions off to read. Also when I pointed out a legal loophole over the new communication's law for gambling content in video games, he went to the Comms Minister directly to raise the concern. Never had that with a Liberal rep. Believe me, I tried. He just treated me like a mentally handicapped child with copy pasted boilerplate response emails.

As an Australian, with an interest in British politics of the past, I’m slowly discovering that Australian Labor looked at British Labour and said ‘let’s not do that’. While Labor is undoubtedly your best option between the two, those governments have been as bad as they’ve been good. I honestly think the Hawke-Keating Labor Government of Australia was the best government of the 20th century mainly because of the results they achieved by turning a middle grade, backward economic colonial outpost into a thriving competitive economy poised perfectly within a growing Asian mega market, made the unions and business work together and using the capital gained to create reliable social programs that still remain as some of the most important aspects of our society today.

Classic example. Chris Minns just passed legislation to end no grounds evictions, and rent increases limited to once a year in NSW. Animal Justice MP is successful in getting an amendment so once a tenant is approved for a pet that approval continues even with a new landlord or agent BUT she didn't support the bill because she called it an "enormous disappoint" for "doing nothing to help people leaving a DV situation with their animal". Animal Justice are a joke. They know nothing about animals or the environment. They know their local vet and their pet. One of the greatest threats to our country is from feral horses, goats, foxes, cats, rabbits, deer, pigs, camels, buffalo, and the rest. Animal Justice has NO ANSWERS. Yes, I wrote to them when they started up, due to my interest in invasive species. There is no expertise in their organisation. They could not answer any questions. The AJ crowd are generally ninnies. And what is their interest in tenant/landlord relations beyond their cat or dog? Not just moaning here - it's classic grandstanding; their one vote must seem very important to them. Now I'm ashamed we're talking about this idiot.
