Steve Sellers also check out April Jennifer Choi. Her videos are good too. Some of the cracks Adam teaches I originally had some difficulty understanding, mainly because of the way he explained them. Hearing someone explain it just slightly differently made a world of difference.

A lot of my instructional videos are pretty old, and I have had more experience teaching since then. So I’d like to think I could do a better job now, but other people, including April, have already posted more current instructional videos.

G'day G'day from the north. After stumbling on a video from Nick's Whip Shop, on how to make a bullwhip, I figured I'd give it a try. Turned out ok. He repeatedly mentions your name as an inspiration and friend of his. He suggests on several different times, to check out your page for help on learning different cracks. He was right. Less than 48hrs after finishing up with making my first whip. I've watched a few of your videos, now am able to proficiently do 3/4 of the cracks you've mentioned. Just by repeatedly watching this video. In fact, at first, just trying to do the cattlemen's crack, and failing horribly. I watched 30 seconds of one of yours videos, when you mention NOT using to much wrist and more forearm. 1000% improvement. So, thank you so very much.

Adam does a wonderful job of creating this content and sharing it with people and I couldn't be more thankful for it. After watching MOST of these videos and also checking out some of the comments I think there is an important distinction to make. Adam feel free to make a video about this if you feel it is appropriate. Adam is a world renowned "sport cracking" whip master. Not only does he hold many world records and has performed for millions of people, but he is also a braider and a true authority on whips. For people who have come to these videos looking for help with "alternative lifestyle" whipping information just know that not all of this information can be directly applied. Sport cracking is so much fun. You can make volleys and arrangements and all these very poetic and acrobatic cracks! But, if you try doing that to, say, a "live target"? Well, nobody is going to be having much fun. It's also very important to learn and understand the different KINDS of whips, the anatomy's, uses, and lengths, to understand the difference between why a 5 or 6 foot stock whip can do all these really beautiful combinations, but your 4 foot mini bullwhip seems to struggle (especially when it and you are new to this). Again, Adam is a world renowned and very respected whip master. He doesn't OWE anybody this information but he shares it anyway, so please, don't view this as me making a demand or entitlement. Just understand that the more information and education you have, regardless of how you plan on using your whip, is the best course of action for your own safety and the safety of those around you. *WHIPS ARE DANGEROUS. DON'T BE STUPID WITH WHIPS*
@Adam-Winrich3 жыл бұрын
I’m vanilla myself and have no experience with “lifestyle” whip cracking, so I have no qualifications to make videos about that type of whip use. I usually recommend people look up Robert Dante for that kind of stuff.

@Geoffrey7b6 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial, Adam! It would be good for beginners to wear eye protection, and know that your suggestion to begin gently is sage advice. Some of the cracks shown here happen at closer range, and students would be well advised to understand that mistakes can make the energy of the whip come back close toward the user. For more thorough protection, beginners should avoid exposing bare skin and consider some form of head protection, especially around the ears and face. If the student has less worry about injury through good safety gear, they can learn and build confidence more quickly.
