Just saw your video , very helpful . I just got a 2021 x3. I have a set of hyper bright lights coming from 5150. I also have pigtails coming too. Why were there 3 wire coming off pigtails. I just want my whip light to come on when I turn my sxs on. What is the yellow wire for on the pigtails. I’m pretty sure all whips only have two wires. Thanks again .

The yellow wire is for turn signal function, just tuck it to the side and use the black and red if all you want is the whip lights for general light functions.

So with the pigtails, you don't need a rocker switch for the whip lights bc it will turn on whenever you turn on the running lights?

The pig tail will just allow the power to the whip lights and cut the power when machine is off but the rocker switch is needed to control the functions and light display on the whips.

Also I meant to mention if the whip lights you purchased come with a remote then at that point you don't need a rocker switch as there is a control box attached to the wire harness that responds and controls the light with remot instead of rocker switch..

I'm not sure if the one i used in my video has the same style plug as a defender, but this one may work it shows 2022 defender compatibility. It has a list on all the 2022 defenders, which will fit. I found the link in another comment. So, my whips are connected at the harness, so I think I only need 1 pigtail right? Also, does it matter which light the pigtail hooks up to? Thanks again.

@hatband1 you should be good with one harness if they are connected, and either light is fine to use the pigtail on.

It depends, if you use a set of whip lights that are joined together at the harness then only one pig tail is needed but if you're using 2 separate of the exact same whip light as I did in video then 2 pig tails are needed and you can use one remote to control them simultaneously.

@mariolucio5522 No. You are using a pigtail to the tail lights that automatically turn off less than a minute after you turn off the machine, thus cutting power to the whip lights .
