My boy is 2 years old now. He's the most amazing, special little guy. So good natured and gentle and loving. Whippet puppies are terrors but when they grow up they are so easy to live with.

Whippets were common pets in the (South Yorkshire Coalfield) mining village I grew up in. Excellent family pets, inexpensive to feed due to being small, and on Sunday mornings the 'pit field' was used for Racing. The lure was pulled (in a straight line) on a cord drawn by the rear wheel of an upturned old bicycle. Very much 'the working-mans racehorse'.

Morris, our Whippet, is now almost 5yo. True companion. Fast (duh) and very brave. Not shy. Playful but also thievish. Real goodboy.

I refer to them as the Porsches of the dog breed. They can accelerate incredibly fast in a matter of seconds because their hind legs act like motors on steroids.
