They are fabulous to watch and have such a fantastic sense of fun and joy that you can almost feel the adrenaline running through them. I hope to get one when I retire. I hear they are also meant to be very affectionate as well. I think they have a lot going for them.

My Pharaoh hound was always the fastest at the dog park until he met a Greyhound. It took him 2 straight line speed losses to realize that all he needed to do was turn at speed and he would remain the champion. i always love watching sighthounds run and play at 40mph. They just look so happy doing it.

They're way more agile and are faster accelerating. But the greyhound would completely destroy the whippet in a race, no doubt about it.

Whippets are crafty due to their terrier nature, Greyhounds just chase.

This is basically a outside receiver chasing down a slot receiver, as long as both stay in tight spaces where change of direction and speed is favored, the slot is in good shape, anytime it is a straight line race the slot is dead

Indeed. Whippets are fast, greyhounds have endurance. The greyhound will always win a long term game, the whippet the one short enough.

Whippets can turn better as seen in the video but yes greyhound is faster

Greyhounds are faster due to longer legs, whippets have better acceleration and tighter turns.

@@laurenmiller8084 that is not true. In fact, there one reason a Greyhound could win to a Cheetah is because of its endurance. Later in the race, the Cheetah would slow down while the Greyhound would probably speed up 😊 And Whippets aren’t “good”, they’re amazing. Sweet, gorgeous, gentle and VERY fast (the 3rd fastest running animal on earth and the 2nd fastest DOG in the world!)
