I went to school with Dolly's brother. I think he was in high school for many years. I remember going to a local cafe and Dolly's grandmother was there almost every single day. She had a special seat just for her, I guess, she was always in the same spot every time we ate there, maybe she never left.!! She was tiny, very ghostly pale and had a PILE of teased jet black hair like half the size of her head. She'd smile and nod as we'd look at her, she loved the fame she got being Dolly's grannie. Dolly was just starting out when I was a kid and the whole town was so proud of her on Porter Wagner's show. We used to pretend to be Dolly doing the Breeze Laundry Detergent commercials she did with Porter on the show. I saw Elvis once, I screamed and cried during the whole performance.

Tammy from Collard Valley Cooks said it tastes just like sugar. I tried it and SHE'S RIGHT. I'm diabetic and I'm using it all the time now! It comes in granulated, powdered, and brown sugar. Soup is more filling than other foods. All that water. Raw and cooked veggies are very filling as well. So, eating as much as we want still won't be as much as we think. Many people don't eat the recommended daily amount. Stuffing ourselves with all those fresh fruits and veggies will probably be what we're supposed to be eating normally on a daily basis anyway.

Watched your video last night and I was up and out to the store and back before hubby was even up. I was out of cabbage. Made the soup and he loves it. He actually said he loves loves loves it. 3 loves, unheard of. I did add some meat. Thank you, this is a keeper.

That looks delicious. I wonder if Elvis Presley's Momma made this cake for him. You know they said he loved his Momma! I'll have to make both! Thank you Miss Lori for sharing these recipes. Tell Me. Brown he is a very lucky man. But heck, He already knows that! Lol! God bless you two! A Nana from Texas!

I was thinking of what to do, go to the market and buy some fish, or do something... well, this is the something! I'm going to do the soup for supper tonight. I don't eat meat on Fridays, so this is perfect! Thank you! (I'll save the Elvis Presley cake for some other time... when I'm feeling more festive!) God bless!

@@cynthiafisher9907 ... I will make the soup... matter of fact, making it right now... the house smells like home; home is where something good is always cooking. The cake I shall make another day.
