@@maryrobert80 it’s amazing when you think that this machine is over twice It’s expected life right now or close to. I mean this machine is 39 years old and it’s washing and sounding good but I didn’t check the back of the machine between the tub and the base plate to see if there was any leaking.. I could always pull it out and check. This machine owes nobody. I’m glad it brought back good memories for you. It does for me also. To me, I’ve always thought a Whirlpool /Kenmore is how a mechanical sounding washer should sound.

I grew up wirh one of these washers. It always amazed me at the engineering behind how these washers and how they worked. They were so well built. The sound of these washers was one of whirlpool's signature of an amazing product. 🥳💯

I have used the Kenmore version back in 2003 which was the last time I used one. It had a cotton/sturdy cycle which I believe Maytag took from Kenmore back in 1997 with the Neptune.

@@MatthewJames-st5wv just the operational noises of a bell drive is what makes these machines so special. It’s funny, but if you ever heard the Maytag commercial with the cavitation noises, this whirlpool makes the same draining noises.

Pat also when you're washing heavy things like jeans and towels, put them through a second spin to help spin out more water, this will help to dry a little bit faster in the dryer... Bob

@patcola73353 ай бұрын
@@maryrobert80 It's funny because I've largely used washers now for the last 36 years that either spun in the six, six or 700 RPM range and it makes a big deal in drying. The older belt drives could have definitely benefited from a longer spin. Everything else about these machines more than makes up for that somewhat small deficit.
