My 10 year old Whirlpool Gold series is still performing well. Clean and sanitized dishes every wash. I did replace the door gasket.

I bought a Whirlpool DTW 330 PAWH yesterday from Home Depot. I will install it, myself. Can’t be to complicated. It only has three connections. We have had a base line Kenmore for 17 years and it is still working but is causing problems after 17 years of use. I don’t like multi feature equipment because they tend to break and are a fortune to fix. KISS - Keep it simple, stupid.

My apartment came with the most basic brand new whirlpool, and I have to say just use liquid or powder detergent, correct amounts in both pre wash and main wash compartments and that damn thing cleans everything flawlessly. I don’t rinse anything before I put it in and there has been barely anything this cheap plasticrap thing can’t handle, i’ve never been so surprised. Clean the filter in the bottom every few weeks and it’s a great machine, it’s ugly and loud af but if you’re ballin on a budget, no complaints with performance.

I think I may go with your recommended mid range Whirlpool . I was considering a Bosch 500 series that is about $400-$500 more currently. But with just my wife and I at home anymore we don't need to go too "upscale". Anecdotally my current dishwasher is a 10 year old Whirlpool that still runs.

We purchased a Bosch dishwasher (SHX56B05UC) in 2003 which lasted over 12 years without any issues. Remodeled the kitchen in 2016 and installed whirlpool gold series appliances (dishwasher WDT920SADM). Within warranty, it was repaired once (would not drain). In the last 2 years we have had to pay the following repairs out of pocket… replace pump motor, replace water valve, replace rack wheels. The unit needs repairs again. currently starts cycle but stops a few minutes in. Tired of spending money on this lemon. Will never buy whirlpool again. Listening to CR and shopping for a Bosch dishwasher.

damn, i just bought a new whirlpool dishwasher (WDT750SAKZ) to replace a 25 year old GE. It's already off to a bad start. I needed a plumber to remove copper tubing because the company that does installation can't deal with copper lines. So now I have to basically do the install myself and i'm stuck with the old one.

Well, there is a reason you might have to. They were 9 months behind in delivery but the Russians bombed a plant where the Ukrainians made parts for the Bosch dishwashers and you may get one on the black market. As for loving what you had before, those stories mean nothing now. I had an Amana for 44 years and just let go of it because I'm getting ready to sell my place. I'm buying what my appliance plumbers has parts for. He only fixes and inspects American appliances.

Nope. I quit using Whirlpool. I just finished placing my five year old Whirlpool dishwasher on the curb after 3+ repairs (both boards and water leaks). Repairs are high between year 2 and year 5. I am now using LG until Whirlpool (also sold under multiple names like kitchen-aide) fixes their reliability problems so that their dishwashers provide higher reliability between years 2 and 5. As with most newer appliances, the kitchen appliance industry is struggling with circuit board designs and are still learning how to make circuit boards that are water proof and last 10 years (durable goods requirement) without failures resulting from aging components like capacitors. Of course, the appliance industry redefined durable goods as 10 years of reliability on a few mechanical parts only. In reality, durable goods applies to the entire unit. Like cars, loss of market share will sooner or later result in an effort to remedy the reliability issues. First, they need to hire engineers that now how to specify the electronic components properly (i.e. military grade) source control specifications.

Our new Dishwasher has now been broken for 6 months. We have a repair warranty. Whirlpool can’t get us a new motherboard! 6 months! We are just going to replace it and I will Never buy Whirlpool again! EVER!

Its boring to have a silent dishwasher, why wouldn’t you wanna hear the wash action? I wish they’d stop with the water saving BS and go back to the old wash system that Whirlpool made for many many years where the dishwasher would use all spray arms at ONCE to clean all racks at the same time because it filled with enough water and had a big enough motor to circulate all that water thru every arm. Nowadays all new dishwashers run one arm at a time and that only takes way longer, because it uses less water to meet new ridiculous standards. Whirlpools Voyager series dishwasher was the first tall tub dishwasher they invented, and it ran all arms at once and it had a powerful motor. This was the same for their other brands like Kenmore and the kitchenaids and the superior Maytag Jetclean from 2009. Those dishwashers were so good and weren’t loud but not silent just right sounding abojt 55 dec. and cleaned like the older standard size powerclean dishwashers which by no argument is the most powerful dishwasher made. But again who cares about how loud it is? Why would you want a silent dishwasher? That’s so boring and these new machines lack a lot of cleaning performance don’t be fooled by this total coverage arm….it has about the same coverage as any other

@@JimmyDevere Yes I’d recommend the last series of Maytag dishwashers they made between 2015 and 2020. I’d try to get the newest as possible like a 19 or 20 model. There are three different models from that timeframe. They all have the same wash system and use the biggest motor that was on the market it’s a very powerful and no bs machine, we have owned one for almost two years now and it’s been the best machine I’ve ever had or seen as I frequently work on dishwashers. It’s very quiet but not too quiet. Our model is MDB4949SHZ it’s a front control model, however you can find several of these models used on marketplace find one that’s been taken well care of and the owner is just remodeling or something of that nature. Some are front control some are top control models so be aware what I’m recommending comes in several different variety’s of models and whirlpool discontinued this series in late 2020.

@@JimmyDevere Also, I prefer this generation because the brand new ones being the model years late 2020 and up until now use smaller motors and use less water, not as simple and effective as the last generation that I’m recommending. It uses lots of water but very minimal still for a modern machine yet runs all arms at once getting the job done faster and more thoroughly.

I had a bad experience with Whirlpool refrigerator (first one stopped cooling about 3 weeks after it was installed, thankfully it was replaced through Costco’s return policy with a new fridge of same make and model). The replacement model works fine but is missing a chime to signal that the door is open. Unfortunately, I’ve given Whirlpool another chance and purchases a dishwasher from them. During the install, the plastic adjustable feet broke/stripped threads. What genius designer went with plastic support feet on a stainless steel dishwasher that costs almost $1,000? Perhaps Whirlpool’s real goal is to design appliances that only lest a few months or a few years?

Would never buy a Whirlpool! Lots of talk about how it performs, but fact is that detergent and gunk will accumulate under the bottom seal on the inside of door no matter which detergent you use and how well you maintain your dishwasher and it’s impossible to clean out and there is a sharp edge under the seal that will cut your fingers! Result: Whirlpool dishwashers STINK.

Whirlpool wi 3010 Dishwasher, water turbidity sensor, It is possible only once to check (open), the fasteners made from plastic and they do not fix the sensor anymore, now I have water leaking, very stupid construction, DO NOT RECOMMENTD TO BUY Whirlpool anymore. Earlier, the sensor was possible to screw, and it had a sealing rubber to prevent leaking, Whirlpool engineers please learn from old school guys.

We have a 30 year old whirlpool “Gold” series that has never failed us … front panel bottom showing a little rust. ….. scared to death to buy ANY of the new ones …Bosch included …..ALL JUNK.
