I grew up there. we used to ride them quite a bit. interestingly if someone falls into those rapids or the whirlpool they use those jetboats for rescue as they're the only boats in the area capable of going that far up the lower River.

Looks like alot of fun. This would be very cool for alot of people who still would like the feeling of racing through the rapids but can't dedicate time or money on a long trip like that, or for people who don't swim well or are not able to paddle with the group this would be the best idea!!! I did this with my family years ago and it was intense, there is a covered version if your not trying to get wet also. Definitely recommend it if your up there it’s a blast and bring a change of clothes and towels.

Similar rides available on the St Lawrence River in Montreal, Canada. Big hydraulics, very wet, full rain suits over major life vests, massive jet power you can really feel, lots of screaming. Definitely worth doing at least once.

No way in a million years is that class V. Class V in white water rafting context mean if you fall off you line there is a strong chance you will flip, and once you flip there is a STRONG chance you will die.

Looks real dangerous. Crazy fun, those boats book and just float through the rapods, its a great feeling. People were standing in one indicating no belts. They have 4 throwing rings for 30 people... how tf is he zoomed in on that lady and getting her voice from the shore. Crazy

It looks okay and fun for a lot of people. If your athletic enough go kayaking on a level 3 or 4 river with other kayakers or try white water rafting where you do the rowing. Just suggestions for the younger peoples.

At the level seen in this video calling that rapid a Class 5 amounts to classification inflation. If you were dropped off at the right place you could run that wave train in an inner tube no problem. If you folks want to see class 5 go watch kayaking video's of the Grand Canyon of the Stikine in British Columbia, Canada. Makes this stuff look like a Sunday afternoon at the local kiddie pool.

That life raft strapped to the side is kinda funny. Meeting Coast Guard regulations doesn't always make sense. I could definitely see the bow stuffing, picking the pumps out of the water and this thing bobbing like a cork. That would sure be a lot of people to try and scoop up from the river

Those boats have thousands of hp behind them. They are very far from struggling lol. They don't even need to use everything it's got, the captain is making it enjoyable for the passengers, racing up at full speed you kinda would miss a lot.

Looks like fun, but that's only because the boat is under control with a massive amount of power at its disposal! If it was to lose that power, it could become an extremely dangerous ride out of control! One would hope that there are two separate independent power sources!
