Mine is a WTW4900BW0, the panel is black on it, it looks the same on the outside except that the control panel is black and the cycles are a little different but has a stainless basket and impeller. It’s belt driven like this one. Bearings noisy but it still works. It is a Whirlpool washer like yours, it does not come on by itself. I got an early Whirlpool, I think it’s a 2013 or 2014 model. Very loud spin cycle, definitely sounds like it got some bearing going out.

The start button got me at first. Washer seems kind of noisy to me but it is in a separate room. Tub feels kind of loose so I am worried it will bang around on spin cycle like the one I replaced. The door lock is o.k. but every time you open the lid to check the water level or amounts of suds or an unbalanced load it pauses it and you have to restart. I am removing the door sensor/lock mechanism and will just have to use common sense when checking a load while running. It was on clearance is the only reason I like it so far.

Does the spin cycle remove most of the water from the clothes ? I noticed that the rpm for spin was 700, and I read somewhere that it should be at least 1000 rpm. Any comments on this ? Thanks.

Most of the time. Occasionally, I open it, and the clothes are still soaked, and I have to run another spin which is an option on one of the knobs.

Is it normal for it to drop lower when it has water. ? Mine dropped and never noticed in other washers.

Mine is very noisy so I need to wear ear plugs so I won't go crazy. Mine doesn't spin and drain after the wash so I have to turn it to spin and drain cycle. I may never buy another washing machine after paying the outrageous cost for something that barely works. I may just pay to have my clothes washed.

To calibrate a Whirlpool washer, you can try these steps: Unplug the washer and wait 1-2 minutes Plug the washer back in Enter Diagnostic/Test Mode by rotating the dial clockwise three times, then counterclockwise once, and then clockwise again once Enter Calibration Mode by rotating the dial clockwise four times until only the Rinse light is on Press the Start button to begin the calibration process

If you leave the lid up like they recommend ( for odor control) it can't possible turn on 😂

I bought one of these washers too and I regret it. I thought it was broken . I guess that's just how they are. Takes waaay to long to wash a load and mine turns off and on during the wash soooo many times I dnt get it . I hate this washer . Waste of money.
