Very distinctive sound on John Lennon's song 'Watching The Wheels Turn' came from a hammered dulcimer. Several years afterwards I was in Vancouver BC and heard the distinctive sound of a hammered dulcimer and somebody was playing one on the side walks. Very nice playing! I always liked that tune. I saw a guy playing a cymbalom, similar to a hammer dulcimer, where he wore thumb picks, and individual hammers on his finger tips with violin hair on the hammers underside. You could hear the hammering, bowing and plucking of the strings. It was wonderful. This was in San Francisco in the early 90s when I was visiting. 👍 Again, Very Nice
