So, uh- The begining parts were just slight guesses in what I think Max's parents are like. I'm not saying I'm right or anything like that because for all I know I'm not, it's just a mini theory.

Because he may have gotten a hoodie, but that's a pretty generic gift, and they may have sent it more out of necessity in a sense? and not to mention that the message he got alongside the hoodie wasnt even handwritten, it was cut and pasted. So I wouldnt consider that a true gift of love, really

Everyone believes Max is probably abused back at his household, which is the easiest conclusion to form from what we've learned about Max, especially in the episode used in this video. We instantly assume, Max's parents don't care about him which must mean he's being abused, and in our minds we likely jump to the conclusion it is physical. While I do agree that Max doesn't have perfect parents, I do feel he isn't physically abused, more so neglected at home, which is why he's always scheming and making a scene. It's likely he believed the only way he'd get his parent's attention was from getting in trouble, as time went on he started just doing it out of habit and for his own amusement. I feel as though his parents maybe have other activities in their lives which they prioritize over their time with Max, ex. work. Hence, the episode where they send Max an exact replica of his blue hoodie. You can tell from this scene, while they do care enough to send him something, they don't know what Max likes or interests are. As we can see in, Max's files his last name is missing, there is no contact information, and he wasn't assigned to a camp, which can easily be explained with his parents not having enough time to really fill it out, and just wanting him there at the camp under the other's supervision. Anyways, with that said, I'd really like to see Max's parents, who they are, and why it is Max turned out how he did. The truth yk?
