You can hear the Southern Rock influence and blues in their music. They have some dark songs like Broken Window Serenade and Bury My Bones that make them a complete band.

The dark stuff is the sweet spot for them, IMO. The two songs you listed are my favorite two from them. Bury my bones is a dirge. I don't think anybody's written a funeral dirge in two or 300 years, certainly not one combined with country rock. Very original and very tasty stuff.

Saw them in New Braunfels at Whitewater Amphitheatre on the 4th. They had the brass & backup singers with them & they both put a different feel on EVERY SONG they played. Even the older ones. It was awesome. Wish I'd got to see them 2 days later at Red Rocks

I got the opportunity to see WM in the middle of the woods at a mud festival in TX, not being from TX or been to a mud fest it was the best show I've ever been too, mind you we weren't aware that there wouldn't be a bar or anywhere to buy beer we came pretty much empty handed, a 4 pack and a flask. I'll be damned everyone was happy to share WM was tossing out some shine and was a complete blast in the the middle of muddy nowhere. Best part.... All bands were great but the the Whiskey Meyers instrument breakdown at the end was the most epic instrumental I've had the pleasure of hearing and witnessing . Thanks for an epic show yall
