I just took my son to see them live tonight at the Fillmore in Silver Springs. His 18th birthday gift. They are such an underrated band! Amazing vocals and well rounded band. This song reminds me of what my life was before i got sober back on April 4th 2016. I fell in love with a girl in the depths of my addiction. I got sober, and she didn't. Even after getting sober she would pop in and out of my life, and I'd want to help her get clean but she wasn't ready. Today she has almost 6 months clean and I still feel the same love for her now. I got sober because I was truly tired of the life i once lived. The Bible says to pray with out ceasing and I know through personal experience that God does answer prayers. May not be the way we want it but he does answer. God is good!

I was in Nebraska back in June 2021 visiting family 2 days before I was heading home to Arizona my oldest son came up to me and said have you ever heard of Whiskey Myers and I gave him this look and a grin and said Son I been listening to Them since their first CD came out I was hooked on Gone Away, and too know they came along when America really was in need of a great southern country rock band I sure wish I could one of these days get to see them live before I move on to that two lane black top in the sky, well he said yeah me and my buddies like them too in fact we are seeing them next Friday at Pinewood Bowl. So there it is the way life goes for me I was heading home 4 days before they played. But on the other hand I was smiling with pride because my son wasn't listening to hip hop and rap he and his friends were listening to great southern rock infused country, I can now rest easy knowing I raised that one right.
