If you’re ever in Kentucky, the Maker’s Mark distillery is a must-visit. It’s a gorgeous facility, the tour is very informative, and they have a lot of gorgeous art around the campus. At the end of the tour you’re allowed to dip your own bottle in wax.

if you look carefully i think he pours it into a sink. the alcohol flow looks quite far back on the right. if i had to guess there's a sink close to the glass

Hey Rusty, nah man! I REALLY want to be SO wrong about what I think I am seeing. After reading your comment, I watched this clip over and over (7:18 to 9:14) after reading your comment - I even projected it @ 1080p on my large screen to really get a good look. It doesn't look like a sink or a bucket is behind that glass, it's going back in the vessel under that white dog flow. Now I really want to know which distilleries this dude has visited - I'm not sure I can do Makers Mark again with this image seared into my brain :) Can't help but wonder if he has fingered the whiskey at all distilleries he's visited? :D **joking .. not joking :(**
@dinosaurhunter41608 жыл бұрын
100% with you. He def fingered that bourbon, in all its forms. I came to the comments hoping I wasn't the only one questioning the quality control. However, the mash stage turns to the pure distilled liquid....that can clean wounds. His fingering germs will be destroyed.....as they should be. I haven't seen him finger anything from the barrel to bottle stage.....yet
@lawdogkyle18506 жыл бұрын
He definitely did and some health dept guy probably blew a gasket, but let’s be honest, it’s being distilled, it’s alcohol, the alcohol will kill any germs, it’s really fine.

Too bad they don't release their "over aged" bourbon. I'm sure they would actually get some whiskey connoisseur to buy their products. Most hardcore whiskey fans don't care for the regular Maker's flat "lightness" and "sweetness". Regular Maker's is just boring for someone who has spent some time tasting bourbon and whiskey in general.

What recommendations do you have then for a good bourbon?

@lawdogkyle18506 жыл бұрын
Lots of good whiskies are owned by large conglomerates. Half the most Scotch Whisky distilleries are either owned by Diageo (England) or Pernod Ricard (France), the same can be said about certain Irish whiskey distillers. None of these companies are changing the recipes, they simply own the name and make a profit. Suntory is no different with Beam.
